DR ChasSmith, I am happy that your gas door thingy is fixed.

I'm sure that the cows will miss seeing you.

Oh, they'll be seeing me again, soon enough.  But let's not rush things.

It's sad, though, that even at the Community Theatre level, they have microphones. You can see the mic on the man who's not my nephew. I don't know who he plays, perhaps the Donkey.

Only in our smallest local theaters are microphones mostly still not used.  Mostly.  And the high schools, and such?  Forget it.  The kids are coming out of the womb expecting to be miked.

Yes.

And yes, all the principals and even many of the rest of the cast were wearing wireless mikes. It's a large, deep stage and a large auditorium, but I agree with your lament. Young actors don't learn their craft as thoroughly anymore.

I also found it interesting that the authors of the musical were only credited once in the printed program - in tiny, TINY type on the cover (blink and you'd easily miss it).

Saturday morning greetings!  Thank you, DRs Singdaw, Vixmom, John G, TCB, KevinH, FJL, ChasSmith, and Elmore for all the vibes regarding my Mom.  I told her I'd check in on her today, but not until after 5pm.  Today is her retirement community's annual fish fry, their biggest fundraiser, and traffic will be awful until it's over.  Mom used to volunteer for this event and it makes me sad because she hasn't even wanted to attend for the past several years.

I think this situation is going to get a lot worse before it gets better...

Hey, Sing, not only did you see someone you know in Shrek, you saw someone you didn't know but someone I know.

Papa Bear is played by my nephew, Joe McLaughlin!

How cool!  I didn't know your nephew was an actor, Ben!

And, sadly, in my remote youth I used to be able to eat a whole box of these in one sitting:

Yes, Deb, my nephew has decided that theatre is his calling. I don't know if he will decide to make a career out of it or if it will be community theatre. He will be a junior in college this fall and he had said that he wants to be a teacher.

We will find out in a couple of years.

Yes, that's Joe. We will see him (and my nieces and sisters and brothers) in a couple of weeks when we go to Michigan for a family reunion.

Good morning, all.

Thank you, BK, for the French lesson. I'm ready to head to Paris.

Thank you, DRs Mike, ChasSmith and FJL in addition to all of the rest of you.
