I stayed on the phone and answered two political robot surveys. I gave negative feedback on all candidates.

Good for you, Laura! :))

Ahem.

LOL
Are you also facing lightening storms tonight & tomorrow?

John G, Do you know Luca Della Casa?  I think I may have missed something

Yeah. He's a chef here in SA.

Fun scene at the bar in the restaurant where Luca's chef. The cheering has started. And the drinks are flowing. He's survived another round.

I'd love to send some to you too Laura.  I was thinking about the fire forecast Jane posted earlier today

FOOD NETWORK STAR SPOILER@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Sorry Luca didn't win, John G, but as cute as he is, it would have been another Italian food show.

DR JRand - I usually just say "Fine" when I'm asked that question.  I don't know why that store irritates me so much. The store I really like is closed on Sundays so my choices on Sunday are limited

Luca came in second. That sucks. But I think he did develop some following.

He's adorable.  I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up on either FoodTv or The Cooking Channel. I've seen several non-winners on tv just not on their own show

We had a great time yesterday celebrating the 70th birthday of the first wife of Richard's late older brother.

I read this quickly and read this as "We had a great time yesterday celebrating the 70th birthday of Richard's  first wife"

My, how civilized, I thought....
Actually this is pretty darn civilized as well....  :)

Well, she is the mother of Richard's oldest nieces and we've always been close to them.

that is very nice!!!

He is. And Lenny has an outsized personality that does work. I loved the way he interacted with the kid. Which makes me think he'd do a good show with kids. Could still be serious food show.

Loved "Hundred-Food Journey." The plot is predictable, but the character study was interesting. There were also a couple of moments when the young lead, Manish Dayal, looked scarily like Sal Mineo.

It will be interesting to learn MBarnum's take on the movie.

Plus, the previews for "The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" were wonderful. Also predictable. And who cares?

My friend Carol got to see Chita Rivera today in "The Visit." The two of them worked together more decades ago than would be polite to mention. Carol loved the show more than the NYT did.

Richard Gere is one of the new old folks to check in, much to the delight of the libidinous Celia Imbrie. And, of course, Penelope Wilton makes it back to India and the hotel.

I felt the same way about 100 Foot Journey.  We didn't get the preview of The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.  I loved the first one.  Looking forward to that.  I don't mind predictable, but mentioned it here for those who care about such things
