It's amazing how many idiots on the imdb and even some actual critics call this miniseries a basically faithful remake, but "reimagined."
It is about as unfaithful a remake as has ever been done. It is made up of nothing but add-ons by the terrible screenwriters. One terrible plot addition after another, one horrifically awful piece of dialogue after another. In the original novel, even though it's written in the third person, you never go away from Rosemary - it's all seen through her eyes, so you never have a scene with the Castevets in which she is not present. It's a device I am very fond of, and all of my novels are written that way - third person but always the through the lead character's eyes with no scenes taking place away from them that the character is not privy to. Writer's Block and Rewind are the obvious exceptions, but those both have conceits in the storytelling, which is why they are exceptions.
