Hoping to start catching up on the weekend.  One unusual thing about the September 15 - October 15 tax season at this place is that while we will put in more hours on a regular weekday, weekend work seems not to be expected.  This is very different from other places I've been.

But not a bad thing

I googled lightening and the first thing to come up was...
"Did you mean: lightning"
 ;D

Interesting was the option to "find more images for lightening".

Well, it's time to leave for my union meeting, then I'll head to the theater for what's left of tonight's show.  I'm sure that it'll be fine...really, I am. :)

Be back later!

Had a very good rehearsal with Juliana and then had an early dinner meeting at Hugo's.  I had pasta papa and a tiny Caesar salad, which gets smaller each time I have it.

Not sure I'm up for a jog today, but in the morning I'll do an extra mile or two.

Here is a photo of my youngest great nephew.  His name is Xavier and he is a sophmore in high school (and a jock).

Well I enjoy the movie DAMN YANKEES, and I have directed/choreographed it once....it's always a lot of fun, if you can get enough men for the show.

I don't like Ray Walston either....in ANYTHING....he annoys me so much - as he did in his tv show MY FAVORITE MARTIAN - I can't watch SOUTH PACIFIC because of him.

THEN he did a great job in a film version of OF MICE AND MEN which I liked....but I can't really watch anything else he is in.
He was one of Pauline Kael's least favorite performers and she penned some deliciously awful reviews of his work. He personified everything she hated about Broadway artificiality.

I recall that, when I was doing my book on musicals, I interviewed him for the DAMN YANKEES chapter...and he didn't seem to be that friendly.

I remember seeing (when I was a kid)  the national company of DAMN YANKEES at the Moore Theater in Seattle.

Burlesque comic Bobby Clark played Applegate.

Isn't that how they got Renee Zellweger and Marlon Brando to sing? Splicing it all together?

What song did they sing together?

Larry, sorry to hear about the identity theft. It's always so galling! I hope it's resolved quickly and without any more inconvenience.

I hadn't thought any further than the credit card thefy. If they want the rest of my lousy life, I hope it brings them the same joy it's brought me for the last year.

I had a scare tonight: I thought my Mac, which is due to be replaced, had finally died, and i was wondering how fast turning on the gas would take to finish me off.

This run of shitty luck has got to end before it kills me.

Elmore, whenever life gets you down, remember you always have MBarnum.

Seriously, you have lot of people who care a great deal about you!

Not really.  My sister is three years older.  She was, I think, 22 when my niece was born.  My niece turns 44 in November.

I would still rather see Ray Walston in the role, than Jerry Lewis.

Just watched a rather tired Esther Williams flick called "On an Island With You." Best part of it was a dance Cyd Charisse had with Ricardo Montalban.
