I took allergy shots for 3 1/2 years. I believe some of my medical problems, especially my high blood sugar, were caused by them. After all that time, my severe allergy to grass went from a 5++, on a scale of 1 to 5, down to a 5+. Nothing else changed. So, I stopped them.

I do take local raw honey and it has helped, but it takes several weeks before I noticed any change. I don't like the flavor of honey, so this is a bit of a chore.

Perhaps a good mead?

Portugal is beautiful.  I would like to visit it one day.

One of my favorite places. I want to make a third trip soon.

Since I take it first thing in the morning, that sounds a capital eye-opener.

Time to go get my hair cut and buy some interview appropriate shoes.   Haven't put on a pair of black pumps in a long time, just discovered the ones I have are really uncomfortable

You don't want to be thinking your feet hurt during the interview.

I got three new pairs! I figure I can always use black pumps.  One pair was on sale for $29 and the other two were reasonable priced so I decided to get them all.  I can wear black pumps with everythign

DR Singdaw supposedly eating local honey helps with allergies to the local pollen.    Since I am mildly allergic to honey I can't eat enough to find out if that works.

Eating local honey sounds like a title for something or other.   Like Finding Neverland or Saving Mr. Banks or Being Julia.

LOL, I've heard that it helps allergies too.  We have lots of local honey around here, they should have it around the Twin Cities too

Hello again.

Reading the allergy posts is interesting. I've known many people who had allergy shots successfully, but also those for whom they were of limited success. That seems to be the case here, too.

I like local honey and it doesn't make my mouth itch.   Come to think of it, I didn't have allergy problems this year and I did eat honey.   Our local honey is not to be confused with Sue Bee Honey which is collected and packaged here but not necessarily from here

DR SINGDAW the recipe from DR JEANNE is very good.....and if you want to start small, you can try a Stinging Nettles tea made directly from the herb....available in most natural herb stores...as it USED to be at World of Wisdom.

I've never tried Stinging Nettles tea. Does it taste good? Do you have to add lots of honey? I should keep it in mind.

Had a chili, cheese and onion omelet, began liner notes, and then have two more episodes of Happy Valley and am just starting episode five.  It's really good - I keep fretting that they'll take the cliche way of things in certain plot points, but they haven't - especially at the end of episode four - if this were an American show I know exactly what they would have done and I would have hurled my shoe at the TV - but thankfully they did the absolutely right thing.

I found it quite riveting. I'll watch anything Sally Wainwright wrote. It's a very well done production, too.

Wow. I'd call that a successful shopping trip.

Back from a grueling but decently satisfying day at rehearsal.  People have been sick or absent for whatever reason and this is the first time in two weeks the entire cast has been together.

Yes, it has to really be local. Farmer's markets are usually a good source.

I once learned in a survival course that you can eat nettles if you boil it first.  We had a ton of it in the gully behind our house so I used to pick it and boil it.  It was good with a little butter and salt

I get it at a gift shop that has all sorts of locally made things, art, jewelry, clothing and honey

VIBES FOR A FANTASTIC WEEK!!!!!!

Tuesday morning I drive about 30 miles from here to meet with one of the commissioners in her home town.  Tuesday afternoon I meet with an attorney in town who is on the commission and Friday I meet with the whole commission.  I have reached out to the other commission members (there are 10 in all) so there is a chance there will be more.   I also have 5 hearings this week and a couple appointments.  It will be a busy week

Yes, enough of this one-day birthday nonsense! A person needs an entire week, at least!

I ended up leaving the house way too late to stop anywhere, so maybe tomorrow.
