"She's Come Undone" is the other one.  I thought I had read it and didn't like it but now I'm not so sure.  My eBook library doesn't have it and I don't want to purchase a book I have already read.  I should look at see if it is on a book shelf in the house.  I got rid of a lot of books awhile back.

I've determined I did read the book and did not like it, which is probably why I didn't keep it.

So, no Emmy party.  I guess I will put the ham chunks away.

Well, I'm leaving work now so that I can get some cat food and water at Costco, then I'm heading home to watch the Emmys.  I'm recording them, so I'll start from the beginning, rather than wait two hours for the rebroadcast...or should I wait?  We'll see.

Be back later.

More TOD - I've often told Richard that it would take us a long time to starve in our house, but it might get pretty weird after a while.

Those canned Vienna Sausages with peanut butter?

Something like that, DR TCB!

I think the Emmys are pretty stupid, but then I'm not a big fan of Seth Meyers

I'm not watching, just looking at who won.  I got a kick out of both Freeman & Cumberbatch up for the same category, different shows.

Didn't get much sleep last night. Not exactly sure why, today was a bit crazy.  I'm going to try to go to bed earlier tonight.  I need to get up early.

My shopping took longer than I thought, so when I got home, I just made myself something to eat and waited until the rebroadcast started.  I did see the end of the live broadcast, but I wasn't really surprised at the winners.  We'll see who won throughout the show. :)

We had company over for dinner tonight. I'm taping the Emmys.

I've decided to watch my DVR version so that I can fast-forward through the commercials.

I just finished reading my 100th book for the year.  At almost 900 pages I'm glad it was an excellent one.  Has anyone read "I Know This Much Is True" by Wally Lamb or anything else he wrote?
I read that at one time....was it an Oprah book or was another Wally Lamb

She's Come Undone was the Oprah book. I loved "I Know This Much Is True."

Has anyone listened to "A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder"? It's an odd score with the strangest set of orchestrations I can remember. I like some of it, but a lot of it sounds like rehashed Noel Coward and Rupert Holmes' score for "Edwin Drood."

I really enjoyed it.  It did remind me of "Drood," but I just chalked it up to both being set in a similar time and both being written in similar musical styles.

But that's just me. :)

I've got it, but haven't had a chance to listen to it yet.

You could not pay me to watch the Emmy show.  It's juvenile, classless, puerile crap.

I just watched the "In Memoriam" section.  I thought it was very well done.  They didn't have any applause, which made it so much better.
