It is interesting to find out which food items are not available in the US. I had no idea that whippets were only found here.  Similarly when i was a kid i had no idea that Smarties were Canadian. They are such a good chocolate (one of my favorites).

Trust me, Jennifer, there are lots of smarties (with pants and without) in the U. S.

a story about a guy who built cat shelves and tunnels and all sorts of stuff around his house

 ;D

That was in our paper - I think the guy is a Minnesota native.

I refrained for that very reason.

I'm getting too predictable.

I thought he was an Iowa native, but he could have been a Minnesotan and yes it was a replay of the news story about him

Just checked on Amazon to see how the barbecue book is selling. It's No. 69 on a list of food and travel books. So I looked to see what was ahead of it on the list. Well, books No. 2 and 3 were about Paris. Can't begin to compete with that, so I'm pleased we're in that company.

Smarties are actually British (I have on good authority)  Canadians just inherited them as a Commonwealth country  just like the Cadburys chocolates, Quality Street Candies, HP Sauce, Branston pickle etc

Smarties for those unfamiliar with the British Smarties, they are not the same as the Smarties we have in the US, they are  basically M & Ms without the M& M stamp

For any who might be interested, the 1965 RODGERS AND HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA starring Lesley Ann Warren releases on DVD today.

I have vague memories of seeing this on television when I was just a little tike.

I remember watching this is glorious black and white

Thanks DR SINGDAW....but the more lines he leaves out, the earlier I get on.....and get to go home!

I hope your director has now realized that you would have been a better choice for Sherry.

Are you using "pumpkin" as a euphemism?

I would never do such a thing.

As use a euphemism, I mean.

You're yanking us...right?

Now that would be a euphemism!

Elmore yesterday I had a package that was properly addressed to an address with written instructions to obtain a signature, and the recipient was waiting at home for the package.
I had set the shipment up so he and I would each receive an email notification as soon as the delivery was made  We both received the notification but  he had not received the package.

Since it contained a rather large check her was quite upset  I suggested he call FEDEX and insist that the customer service rep contact the delivery center supervisor who has the ability to contact the driver

he did so and it turned out that the driver  had delivered the package  to another house, several blocks away from the correct address,  which had  a  completely different address (no similarities at all not even the house number!) and he had just left it lying on their front step

I do have some sympathy for the drivers though  having worked as UPS driver back in my younger days....

they time motion study you to death and  expect x number of packages delivered in 8 hours without taking into account traffic, lack of parking places, ferocious  large dogs with big pointy teeth , even more ferocious  itty bitty dogs with really pointy teeth, lack of building/house numbers, locked gates, lonely old ladies who hold your signature pad hostage while telling you  all about their grandson in California who is so thoughtful and never forgets to send a present to his grandma on her birthday even though he is all the way across the country  but he is smart as whip that one, smart as whip, and doing so well, but of course  everyone expected it ever since he won the science fair  in first grade, only six years old ,and won best entry in the science fair, not just for the first grade, mind you , no for the whole school, and they had big kids in that school , 6th graders some of them , and he won best  entry , smart as a whip that one, the big ones didn't like it one bit, not one bit , being beaten but a little boy like that, but he was smart as whip, and he worked so hard on that,  you should have seen his little face, so proud, well we were all so proud of him but of course who wouldn't be ,  I think I have a picture here of him standing next to his experiment with his ribbon,  why don't you  come in for a cup of tea and I'll just find that picture .....

Commentary was really fun.  Prior to it I had to deal with yet more irritating e-mails and one more of them and all communication will cease on my end.  I'm done trying to be a nice person.

Had a well needed foot rub - or would that be well-kneaded?  Had some chow at the Studio Cafe - shared some drumettes and had a chopped Eyetalian salad.  Then relaxed and watched a bit of The Great Race.  Now uploading some video.
