Well, you've read the notes, the notes had no paper but did have a time machine, and now it is time for you to post until the paper cows come home.

There used to be a journal - I can't remember exactly what it was called - that compiled the Broadway theatre reviews from all the major NY metro critics. I would take ANY three years of that - it was so entertaining and educational to peruse.

I enjoyed Ben Brantley's review in today's NY Times of the revival of You Can't Take It With You.

Good morning, all! I was completely exhausted around 3:00 yesterday and when I turned off the lights at 9:30, I couldn't get to sleep at all. Getting up this morning was an ordeal, but i've got physical therapy in another 90 minutes.  When I awoke, i was having some bizarre dream that jumped between my family's home on Goldman Avenue and Lincoln Center. I remember cooking for a birthday party for my friend Ransom, and the only party guests I remember now were Ben Davis, Kiri te Kanawa, and Elizabeth Schwarzkopf; then Bruce Pomahac and I were at Lincoln Center plaza waiting for a performance of The Golden Apple to begin.

I hope I find an elevator crew at work when I return home. Those steps are still an ordeal.

Monday morning greetings!  I was up earlier than I'd intended, but have enjoyed some reading and emailing.  Have to finish getting ready to tonight's AAUW board meeting.

TOD:

BK, that is an incredible find.

Tough call, because I'd want that kind of thing from a few of my movie going lives.  Let's start with Fort Lauderdale, 1964-1966 -- except that I'd really REALLY plead for stretching that to cover 1962-1967.

Next up, Cleveland, 1967-1972.

And then there's L.A.  Anything from 1972-1985 and 1986-1989 would be invaluable.  I'm sorry I kept no listings at all from any of those years.  I remember that half-page (?) in the L.A. Times that tightly listed EVERY theater -- it was called Neighborhood Listings or some such? -- that would be perfect for capturing the whole picture.

What's also sad is that I don't have any of those monthly or two-month sheets from the revival houses like the Nuart.  Not a one of 'em.  And I could swear I'd retained a few here and there.

Oh, and that missing year, 1985-1986?  Northwest suburbs of Chicago, thank you very much.

TOD - I really don't want any old newspapers, but I'd sure love to find the Playbills from the 8 Broadway shows that Richard and I saw in 7 days in December of 1982.  I was hoping they'd surface during our great cleaning/purging this summer, but I think they must have disappeared long ago.

I think 1974-1976. So many wonderful posters I remember, especially from the foreign films.

What lovely notes with echoes of the past.

I would like movie & local tv listings from 1958-1961.....I have a few TV GUIDES from the era....most entertaining to see the television programs and descriptions and the articles about big stars who only lasted a season or two.....

We have a nice, gentle rain falling right now, and temps 20 degrees cooler than yesterday. The leaves are starting to turn, with many on the ground already.  It's fall!

And i am home from therapy. No word yet from the elevator crew. The super thinks the firemen's breaking down the door means they will have to order parts, so the elevayor may be out for some time. Damn.

So, an older couple visiting their daighter on the 4th floor got stuck and panicked. Rather than wait for the elevator men to come, the old man kept ringing the alarm button and the daughter called 911. If the elevator crew had got here first, we might still have a working elevator.

I have a few old TV Guides which are amazing to look through, but I should search occasionally for years and cities specific to me.

That's what I always do DR CHAS SMITH.....which is how I got the 1961-62 New Year's issue from Indianapolis with the Frances Farmer fashion story.....probably just in local editions....since it's on the paper pages NOT the glossy pages.

Or about going down on the dumbwaiter, either.

I hope the firemen attempted to calm the couple down before breaking the elevator.
