Finally some visitors - about twenty all at once.

A bit overwhelming but still fun.

They're out but they haven't come here yet.  I don't really understand parents who pass this house by on their way to other houses nearby - it's mind boggling, actually.  It's right in front of them, well lit, the gate is open for easy access, and yet these idiots pass right by.

One year, while living in Alexandria, VA, I hadn't had time to purchase a pumpkin and carve a jack-o-lantern. I heard one mother say to her children that if there was no jack-o-lantern outside they shouldn't come to the door!  WHAT?!! I'd say if no lights were on they shouldn't come to the door.

Odd but that is a possibility.  Bruce is there anything different about your house than the others in the neighborhood?  I know when I took the children the only houses we skipped were the ones without lights on.  We also did the houses will steep driveways that others skipped.

It must be Bruce's hilly driveway.  :)  (Bruce's house is on flat ground and it's a short walk from the sidewalk to the front door.)

LOL I know, which is why I'm curious if his house is missing something the others have.  I can't imagine why they would skip his house.

I'm certainly not into computer science.

I love that these are very intelligent women who are able to use the skills they exercised at Bletchley, even though they were expected to assume traditional roles after the war.

We have a terra cotta jack o'lantern that we put in the window last night.

Nice and not messy at all.

Cute costumes tonight.  They're coming in droves now.  They do love my choice of candies - most popular this evening has been the little packets of candy corn.

I may have a Milky Way later - easy to chew, certainly.  Could also have a Three Musketeers, soft, too.  Really wanting some of the licorice but not quite there yet.

Good exercise, though - up and down, up and down, up and down (that is three up and downs).  Can this really be the last of October?

On facebook we just saw the absolute cutest child, a toddler wearing a Bernese Mountain Dog costume.

It did not rain for Halloween.  And even though it was 40s it felt very mild.  I had tights on under my pants and took out my winter coat and hat. But I did not feel cold at all which was great.  I am stuffed from eating candy!

The candy corn is the clear winner - kids see it in the bowl and WANT it.  I will run out soon (only two bags of it) but I never would have thought it would be popular and, in fact, bought it for me :)

We enjoyed THE CHEF last night.  Tonight we will watch THE BLETCHLEY CIRCLE.

Is that the movie Chef?  My library just got it.

I don't think i have ever tried candy corn. I am surprised that kids would choose it.  Lights on is not enough here. You have to have halloween decorations too.

They LOVE the candy corn - they squeal when they see it.

Not quite as busy as last year, which wasn't quite as busy as the year before, but it's only really been an hour and twenty minutes, so there's another hour and twenty to go.  I shan't run out of candy tonight, that much is clear, and I'll be giving a lot of it to she of the Evil Eye and then we'll have some at our rehearsal, too.

Our terra cotta pumpkin sits on a bed of candy corn and we'll have plenty left when I pack up the Halloween decor tomorrow.  I like it when it gets a little stale.

Two weeks from tonight we'll be in NYC, seeing THE BAND WAGON at City Center.

They keep on coming.  Should be done soon, though.  I did give away a LOT of candy.

I think we are finally winding down.  I still have two hundred or more pieces of candy, which I shall now eat.  Kidding.

Sold four books before the sale tonight, but the barbecue joint we were at was empty, so that was a wash. Sad. The place really went all out, but everyone was elsewhere for Halloween.

Helped hand out a LOT of candy, then went to a friend's birthday party. A dinner party for 18 people (and two cats).

When I drove Bonnie home at 10 p.m., there were still kids on the street walking around. We were never out that late on Halloween.
