Well, you've read the notes, the notes weren't The Longest Notes, and how it is time for you to post until the longest cows come home.

I've only owned three cars...a 1976 (or maybe 1975) Volkswagen Super Beetle, a 1989 Subaru Justy, and my current 1998 Ford Escort.  My favorite was the Super Beetle because it was a VW Super Beetle! :D

Good morning, all! Every clock in my apartment is changed, EXCEPT for the microwave.  So, when I checked the clock on my way to the bathroom, I thought it was 5:45 and thought, I must be up in 45 minutes. It was really 4:45, and my morning has been screwed up ever since!

So, I have therapy in another 45 minutes, and then I sall head to City Center and drop off these four Paint Your Wagonscores to Joshie and pick up some more.  That score for "I Still See Elisa" and its sundry key shifts has caused some real problems in the orchestra parts that need to be cleared up. Then, the next number "How Can I Wait?" is almost perfect alignment. Go figure.

I love Liz Larsen. I haven't seen her since BK recorded "Little By Little."

If there was snow last night, there is no evidence of it upon the ground this morning.

Thursday morning greetings!  Some knee vibes for Richard would be appreciated - he can barely walk and has an appointment with our doctor at 11:15.  Rob is going with us to help.

Thanks, DR FJL!  He has to get better quick, because we're due to be on a plane to NYC a week from today.

TOD:

I've never really been a car person.  For me, cars are just there to get you from one place to another, and, frankly, I drive as little as possible.

So, I guess my favorite car is the one I have now, a 2000 Honda Accord.  I bought it new and it has about 45,000 miles on it.

Good morning, all.

And a dark, rainy one it is.  Fortunately, I have an all-day stay-in day today.  I will run out for some foodstuffs later, but that will be a quick trip.

Coffee!

TOD:
OMG, Bruce I can't believe you asked this question today! My car got totaled on October 23rd. I guess it would have been even weirder if you asked this question on October 24th. Anyway, I always wanted a bright red 4-door hatchback. My first car in the 80's was a 4-door hatchback, but it was beige. In the 90's I ended up with a red 2-door Mazda 323 hatchback and in the 00's I ended up with a red 2-door Acura Integra hatchback. Finally in 2009 I bought a brand new red 4-door Nissan Versa. I finally got the car of my dreams (my dreams are small). And on October 23rd, I was rear-ended on highway 101. No, I wasn't hurt. But, of course, even though it wasn't my fault, the whole insurance thing is dragging on slowly, and no one returns my phone calls. I finally figured out the best way to communicate with my agent is through e-mailing their web site - then he responds right away. Today, I find out if he got the Title that I sent via FedEx yesterday, so they can deposit money into my bank account, so I can buy another car. I'm currently driving a rented VW Jetta, which is okay - I thought I'd like it more.

All that said, I too, am not a car person. It's just a tool to get from point A to point B. I'm glad I don't drive very fancy expensive cars that I could get really attached to. Then, if I get rear-ended, I'm not heartbroken - just annoyed. My boss said when she got rear-ended in her new BMW, she cried - actually cried. I will never buy a car I would cry over. I have my eyes on a used 2011 Nissan Versa with only 50,000 miles on it, which I'll try to get as soon as the funds are deposited in my account. The car is blue...sigh.

Bruce, thank you for answering my question from yesterday. Somehow, I got the feeling you planned these shows out like six months in advance. It's interesting to know otherwise.

TOD: I'm not a car person either. And my family hasn't really been car centered.

Back when I was in college, I got Dad's hand-me-down, a powder blue 1976 Dodge Royal Monaco. It had originally been a company car with 100,000 miles on it before the company refurbished it and sold it. I got it when I was a junior and put another 150,000 miles on it before it went to car heaven. All the dark blue upholstery was still intact and, man, was that car ever comfortable.

It was also enormous but got good gas mileage, especially on the highway. I remember taking that car on some wild weekend trips and there was always room for extra folks who wanted to tag along. One was a magical trip to Chicago with my friend Bill at Christmas time. I remember it started snowing as we left town.

Another was a trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., with three other friends (I later found out that Bill was sleeping with both women who accompanied us, though they didn't know about the other). We really didn't have any money with us and this was before ATMs. We were headed down one mountain when the brakes gave out. Luckily, I managed to steer us into a repair shop that had an incline and we were all safe. But the cost to replace the brake pads drained us of every last cent that the four of us had. We didn't eat on the way back to school, and we were all praying or hoping that we had enough gas to get us back.

Love her, too. I remember seeing her in a number of shows, most often at the Cohoes Music Hall, back in the day when I lived in upstate New York. One her best was as the female lead in "Romance/Romance." She does a knock-out version of Ragtime Romeo on the first Unsung CD.

I think my favorite car is also the car I have now.  We have a family who always trades cars around, so I had never had a car that I chose....well one, my first car a 1968 Rambler American, which was okay.

I have had a 1958 Thunderbird, 1962 Dodge, the Rambler, 1974 Ford Crown Victoria, 1977 Pontiac Firebird, 1998 Izusu Amigo, 1994, Pontiac Grand Am, and now my favorite:

2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser.  It now has 109,000+ miles on it.....but it is great.  Four doors, hatchback, the color is not my favorite, but it's okay.....cream colored....but it drives great, gets fair gas mileage....and is easy to maintain.

I will probably only buy one more car in my life....and I know what it will be....but it will be a few years.

I want to get a Chrysler 200, those are nice looking medium cars.....

There are a few I left out of the list.....but that's okay.
