(Just ketchuping a bit on the day's regular postings):

I was so very happy to see all my lovely dear readers this weekend.  It's been far too long - seeing elmore was wonderful and ChasSmith and Ginny and her ever-lovin' and Ben (missed Ant), and FJL and Skip and KevinH.  I brought Richard Sherman right over to all of them and he enjoyed meeting them all very much.  Hope I'm not forgetting anyone, but with one hour of sleep anything is possible.

Vixmom!  Vixmom!    :D

Dan Callaway went up on a few lyrics at yesterday's first show in Skip's song.  It happens in every show and he wasn't the only one.  However, at the second show he hit it right out of the park.  I'm hoping we got that performance on tape.

Lisa Livesay is especially charming when she goes up.

I wish that whole second show was on tape.

I exhausted all my energy this morning at Toyland, and all I want now is to go to sleep.  I will be in bed by 8:00pm.  I'm pretty sure of that.

So nice to see Gene Castle's beautiful wife, Jane Actman.  Liz Larsen was amazing - she's just so much fun and in the second show we even got to do a little comedy concerning her inability to understand how the mic stand went up and down - she kept trying to force it and I kept telling her to squeeze the thing on the stand, and she just couldn't do it, so I got up there and demonstrated and she STILL couldn't do it - hilarious.

I'm quoting posts because many of them are of things I'd intended to get to as well.

The mic stand thing was HILARIOUS.  Perfect -- absolutely flawless -- from beginning to end.  You just have to love when that can happen so beautifully.

In the first show last night, as I mentioned in the notes, many in the audience were of an age and clearly did not have a clew as to what we were about, although in the end I think they had a good time.  But there was some kind of negative energy coming from somewhere in the room - everyone in the cast felt it, and that's why a couple of them went up on lyrics.  That kind of thing is palpable.  I felt it the instant I said my first line.

At one point I got irritated by it, but it resulted in the biggest laugh of that show - and it was completely spontaneous.  After Sarah Uriarte Berry sang her song from Light in the Piazza, a completely tuneless thing that makes no musical sense to me on any level with no melody anywhere.  She got a nice hand and then I got up and said, "That song would be great for Name That Tune.  I can name that tune in 903 notes."  Suddenly that quiet crowd was laughing big.  I used the same joke in the second show, where it also got a nice laugh.  I was very loose in the second show and that audience was loud and wonderful.

Incredible.  I never would have dreamed you hadn't prepared the "Name That Tune" bit.  Again, perfect, both times.

I had a chicken salad sandwich for lunch, picked up some packages and that's it.  I'll watch The Judge if I can stay awake.

I loved Sarah's song from INSIDE OUT (was that the show's title?). I didn't know the songs from TIME AND AGAIN, so Dan could have sung anything and I wouldn't have known. I liked what I heard. I really liked the WHAT IF? performers and i kept wondering how much time you actually had with them.

The What If performers were found for me by choreographer Adam Cates.  I sent them all the videos from the LA show and they all got together and learned all the moves and the music, so by the time I got in they already knew everything.  At their rehearsal, I gave them some direction and pointers, just simple stuff - they were just great - got what I was saying, took it, ran with it, and voila.  I really loved them and so easy to work with.  My stuff was all about the little movement laughs within those numbers - just timing things.

They were exceptional.  I was surprised to learn this when I spoke with one of them.  I would easily have believed they'd had those performances under their belts long before this weekend.  So tight, so perfect, so funny.

DR VIXMOM's photos were wonderful.  DR FJL - I thought that was you hiding behind DR KEVINH.

Everyone looked so nice.

The photo of DR VIXMOM and DR ELMORE was especially nice!!!

Yes, that is a great one.  I wish I could do so well at getting people shots.  When mine are any good at all, it's just plain dumb luck, and/or from taking a dozen or more to hopefully end up with one keeper.

HI all.   I woke up in the middle of the night with a pain in my stomach and under my right rib.  I don't know if it was stomach flu or what it was, but the cats were really shocked to see me throwing up... Boo commiserated by throwing up a hairball.  Oh the joys of living with cats

I'm starting to wonder if what I had was a gall bladder attack  It really didn't feel like the flu and I had a really sharp pain in my right side under my ribs.  It finally went away, and I got some sleep.  I started with tea and toast, then made my homemade chicken and noodles.  I've had a little left over pot roast and am still doing fine.  Wish I knew what it was

I hope Singdaw comes back to see Elmore's apology.   I'd hate to have someone leave over a post that was a joke gone bad....or a bad joke...or something like that.
