Well, you've read the notes, the notes were both uncapped and capped, and now it is time for you to post until the capped cows come home.

Today, my cousin and his wife are coming up from Oregon to visit for Thanksgiving.  They're staying with my sister.  At work, I have to finish the last two evaluations (they're due by Wednesday, so that'll be good) and then I have rehearsal tonight.

Depending on when I finish the evaluations today, I should be able to leave work early and visit with the visiting family before rehearsal.  I don't have to be at rehearsal tomorrow night or Friday, so I'll be able to visit more than one day. :)

American Thanksgiving is relative new to me (still) and never really celebrated other than having dinner with people.

Good morning, all! I had a good night of sleep with a final weird dream involving grad school; a large collection of library books on theatre, set and costume design, musical theatre, etc.; Bob Cornella, a friend from grades 1-12 whom I've not seen in 50 years; and the theatre-library program was supervised by my fourth grade teacher Miss Fay.

This morning I have physical therapy, then i must speak to Joshie about an Encores! concern, and get back to work.  He wants Paint Your Wagon finished by Dec. 30.

So, DRs, I need megavibes for employment. I just wrote checks for all of my outstanding bills, and I'm still $400 short.  I can hold off mailing several of them until the middle of December, but I have absolutely nothing left, and the fact that I can do nothing about Christmas, much less food, is a painful reality at this time. I'm not soliciting money and I have no wish to become the HHW charity baby.  I need vibes and prayers that a good steady job rolls down the pike.

It won't happen before January 2, since things are pretty much closed down between Thanksgiving and the New Year.  I thought both of the last two foundation jobs between 2001 and 2014 would keep me working till I died and, instead, it was the jobs that dried up.  I thought the foundation that dropped me in 2011 wanted me back, but once again, after the overtures, they take a lunch break for the rest of the year.

So, that's the state of my life at the moment, and I need a good job. Please send vibes.

My favorite Thanksgiving story about the inappropriate joke I told one year when I was a kid has not changed.  I've posted it here 2-3 times over the years.

And then there's Abraham Lincoln's story of the Audacious Man carving the turkey.

I have a wonderful spoken rendition of it on one of those LPs of bawdy jokes and songs.

I, for one, am supremely p.o.'ed that there's supposed to be snow tomorrow.  Especially the threat of "a lot" of snow.

I never experienced a White Thanksgiving, and it wasn't exactly my hope and dream to start now.  This crap is coming earlier every year now.  Fortunately, I had the presence of mind this past weekend to go out and stock up on sand and salt supplies.  I'll bet there's been a run on it since.  It doesn't take much of a "panic" for all the stores in an area to run out.

Tuesday morning greetings!

Middletown, OH (previous home to Larry and current home to Ginny and Richard) is on NPR (National Public Radio) with a fun story about a high school teacher

Middletown High School and Language

DR Ben, thank you so much for sharing this!  Yes, DR Elmore and Richard graduated together from Middletown High School.  Richard's parents graduated from there 30 years prior and Rob graduated from there 40 years after.  We don't know the teacher who's the subject of this story, but it's nice to hear some good news coming out of our school district.

I'm getting myself in gear to go to Kroger, something I'd rather not do the day before the day before Thanksgiving, but it is what it is.  Our guest list for the holiday feast expanded by 2 last night when my sister called to tell me that her son and his significant other will be here.  So, we're at 8 or 9, depending on my Mother (the birthday girl).
