What a great write-up on ROBERTA.    Congrats!

That Filichia sure comes up with great approaches to his subjects.

Yes, DRs ChasSmith, Laura, JRand, and Vixmom, there is great relief here.  My sister and I were both awake in the wee hours this morning stewing about it.

From DR Ginny:

And she will have her friends nearby.  We saw 2 of them today who were pleased to learn of her impending move.

This is very nice and should be a big help for her.

Will still be able to drink her scotch?

Meanwhile, the arrangements for Mom's move are progressing and I have to go this afternoon to fill her in on the details.  My sister and her husband and their daughter will arrive Sunday.  Mom and I share the same horoscope and she has no idea the kind of chaos that will be swirling around her early next week.

LOL, good think your mother is blessedly ignorant of her horoscope.

I am relieved for you that your sister & her family will be there to help.

What I learned from reading Jimmie Walker's autobiography DYN-O-MITE:

The producers wanted Ralph Carter to play the youngest son, Michael, but he had a long term contract with the Broadway musical RAISIN - so they cast another young actor who worked right up until the day they taped they pilot....and then was released:

Laurence Fishburne

I think they did him a favor.

Ginny, was exactly is an assisted living room?  Is it more like a room in a nrsing home, or is it still along the lines of a small apartment, with possibly their own furniture?  I thought I should ask now, since I will probably have forgotten by the time I move into one.

It's a health care facility, but not as intensive as skilled nursing.  Mom will have a decent sized private room with en suite bath.  Meals are in a nearby dining room and she will be checked on throughout the day.  The staff will administer her meds, including her Scotch.  She will have neither meds nor Scotch in her room.

The answer to my Scotch question :)

Mom's reaction when I told her she's moving on Wednesday:  "Oh, GOOD!"

Whew!

She's going to have friends nearby, still able to drink scotch, her own private room, meals prepared for her, and people there to wait on her.....doesn't sound so bad to me :)   Glad she's ready to go, it makes all the difference in the world

Sugar Pops became Corn Pops
Sugar Smacks became Honey Smacks

A pointed out before SUGAR was a bad word even though sugar was still in the product.

And during at least the first season one it said during the end credits: "Ralph Carter courtesy of the Broadway musical "Raisin".

I believe he was doing both shows at the same time. (Obviously missing shows when he was in L.A.)

We've been so fortunate that my mother, and Richard's, made their own decisions along these lines.  We've never been accused of "putting" them somewhere they didn't want to be.

Well, the last few days haven't been the best for me.  I've been busy at work and with the show in the evening, but for the last few weeks, my cat Ebonie hasn't been doing well.  She's been losing weight over the last few months and with all the shows that I've been involved with, I don't think I noticed as well as I should have.  I took her to the vet three weeks ago and the blood test indicated a thyroid problem.  The vet said that it was treatable.  She (the vet) gave me some meds that I've been giving to Ebonie but she was still losing weight.  Yesterday, she was really wobbly when she walked, and when I stopped home after work before going to the show, she could barely keep herself on her feet.  When I got home after the show, she was laying down and couldn't really even lift her head.  I thought that she might last until this morning.  I was planning on taking her to the vet to have her put to sleep, but she didn't make it.  I called another 24-hour vet and took her there at about 2:30 this morning.  She was breathing when I took her to my car, but she was gone before I got there.  I e-mailed my work and didn't go in at all.  I've just been at home.  Now, I have to get ready to go to the show.

I know I'll be fine, but it's going to be a strange weekend. :(
