I'm up, I'm up - maybe six hours of sleep - this madness must stop this coming week.  I have to get eight hours or more every day from now until a week from Monday.

Some of the family members are coming later for pizza. It's DR Kate's husband's birthday.

I had the craziest dream - all I can tell you is I was having a meeting with a singer named Johnny "Stilts" something-or-other.  He'd made one album in the 60s for United Artists - him singing odd songs complete with background noise like people chattering at a restaurant or whatever (not recorded live!).  And then Quentin Tarantino had used a track in the film previous to Kill Bill, which, in this dream was called something with the last word being Disturbance in the two-word title.  That had gotten him notice and his manager and he were trying to place the album, which they, according to them, owned, even though what they were playing me sounded like a bad, bad vinyl transfer from a scratchy record.  They kept talking about owning it and how convoluted getting ownership had been because at the time of release they'd sent Sammy Cahn the two-inch session tapes rather than a mixed version and he'd sued them and won $500,000.  (I'm not making one word of this up).  Then we were at a club and Stilts was going to perform.  Then my alarm went off.

This is a most entertaining dream.

Perhaps the Dream-O-Matic 6000 should take a crack at it.

Wow, what a detailed memory of your dream, BK!

Some fifteen years ago I decided to keep a dream journal for a while, and described the really elaborate ones in that kind of detail.  For a few of them I even made a sketch of the layout of the place I was dreaming about.  I gave up the practice after a few years, but still have a twinge of regret about doing so whenever one of those beautiful epics comes around.  Hell, I've had a few within the past few weeks that would have qualified for making the effort.  Those worlds and situations we create in our sleep are often quite fascinating and beautiful.

Here's something weird, though.  When you write them down like that, you "assume" you've documented them well enough that you'll be able to read them years later and picture them all over again.  That may be the case with many of them, but I took that journal out a couple of years ago and was stunned at the number of them, even those long ones described in that kind of detail, that resulted in a total blank!   :)

Errands are run, and I am home.  I have thin gs to accomplish today, so I'd better start.

I wish I had some thin gs.  It would be the only thin thing I have.

I thought about going to the sales in the stores because you can get such good deals, but then I decided not buying anything is a better deal, so I'll just stay away

It snowed last night.  Only about 2 -3 inches, but it's nice to see snow again.  I cleaned out the driveway this morning and now will have to scoop out the hump left at the end of the driveway by the road grader

I woke up to the cats making lots of noise in their new habit of fighting.  I was not happy as I sprang from bed screaming "WHAT IS GOING ON!!!!!!"    They split up and we've only had a hiss or two since then.

I ordered some of Jackson Galaxy's spirit essences.  There is one called Peacemaker that is supposed to stop this sort of fighting and one called safe space that is supposed to make them feel safe and that their boundaries aren't being invaded.  I have no idea if this stuff works.  The reviews are great and he seems to have the touch, so I'm going to try it.

I keep saying I'm going to lock them in different rooms, but they seem to do that themselves.  I really don't think they will hurt each other at this point and am concerned that they are just trying to wake me up as when they fight I do tend to come running.

I was just straightening up some sh   stuff, and uncovered the LinkSys Wi-Fi router I'd been using up till just a few months ago when I got a new modem/router combo supplied by the cable company.  So now I'm wondering:

DR Elmore:  are you still routerless at Toyland?  You're totally welcome to try plugging this one in and, if it works, just keep it.

I don't know what you'd have to do -- if anything -- to configure it or set a new password or whatever, but maybe someone here has a clue or two?

DR ChasSmith, I don't know the answer! That's the bailiwick of my vey E&T colleague Curtis.  I believe he is back in town next week, and i will inquire.

I must say that so far CARRY ON TEACHER is the funniest of the series I have seen so far.

I love the Hammer Films CARRY ON (HAUNTING?)with Jim Dale and Finella Fielding.

The soup is made; I ended up with three pots, so I threw some corn starch into one and got rid of most of the stock, and I have chicken stew. The process took about four hours, and I have listened to Sandy's album three times so far.

Well, my sister and I are at our cousin's house in Oregon and have been since yesterday.  We had a long drive and stopped a couple times, but otherwise had no trouble driving down here.  We'll be here until Monday! My nettab tablet couldn't hook up to my cousin's wi-fi so I'm on my cousin's iPad.  I probably won't be able to be back on HHW until we get back on Monday. :(
