I hope that means you like it!

Very much.  I'm not sure I'm ready to talk about it yet.  Does Sandy's husband want to produce a video of The Brain from Planet X for SyFy or HBO? I really like her "Here On Earth."

I am not accompanying Richard because the plan was to meet my cousin and his wife (from Georgia) at Mom's for a visit.  Well, they heard from their cat sitter late yesterday that their house had been broken into, so they've headed home.  For a while, their 2 cats were missing, but apparently they've been found.

I have to go to Mom's at the appointed time because her phone is still not connected and I could not notify her of the change in plans.  That will be my task for Monday - chasing down someone on campus who can get the phone straightened out.  Holiday time is not the best time to engineer a move.

I am relieved for them that their cats have been found.  Good luck with the phone situation.

Some of the family members are coming later for pizza. It's DR Kate's husband's birthday.

For the husband of DR Kate,

That is very possible-lol

We, too, have a new blanket of white - about 5 inches  - a nice surprise when we woke up this morning.

Dayton is drizzly and dank today. But I've had a lot of fun exploring.

I use a site called ereaderiq.com. You can put your kindle wishlist in there and they will notify you when any of the e-books go on sale. It's pretty cool.  I've also been lending/borrowing a lot of kindle books. There are many e-books you can loan once for 14 days. Love this feature.  Although there is one book I have been wanting to read that nobody seems to have.

Did you get them?  I'm not in love with my Kindle app and am just using it for something I really want, if the price is worth it.  I'm going to double check it for a series I'm reading that I have to purchase vs getting at the library.

I've already read all of her books.  I don't often give 5 stars. But all of her books but one have been 5 stars for me. She is an amazing author.

I am currently reading "Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics" by Daniel James Brown.  It is well written and I am engrossed in the story.

DR Jennifer I think you would like the books by JoJo Moyers.  I recently finished "One Plus One".  While not as thought provoking as "Me Before You" is is excellent.  The main characters are extremely likable.

No discounts for the books I was searching for.  I did find one for something else on B&N, so thanks Jennifer for motivating me to search.

Today was the day for putting away Christmas presents. The problem is that I have no room for anything! I am a pack rat by nature, but trying to live in a small space and be more of a minimalist. I am bursting at the seams here and looking for what I can get rid of.

Great photo of DR Ben and DH Anthony. I always like Ben's taste in eyeglass frames. I pay a lot of attention to such things!

I had the craziest dream - all I can tell you is I was having a meeting with a singer named Johnny "Stilts" something-or-other.  He'd made one album in the 60s for United Artists - him singing odd songs complete with background noise like people chattering at a restaurant or whatever (not recorded live!).  And then Quentin Tarantino had used a track in the film previous to Kill Bill, which, in this dream was called something with the last word being Disturbance in the two-word title.  That had gotten him notice and his manager and he were trying to place the album, which they, according to them, owned, even though what they were playing me sounded like a bad, bad vinyl transfer from a scratchy record.  They kept talking about owning it and how convoluted getting ownership had been because at the time of release they'd sent Sammy Cahn the two-inch session tapes rather than a mixed version and he'd sued them and won $500,000.  (I'm not making one word of this up).  Then we were at a club and Stilts was going to perform.  Then my alarm went off.

This dream may compete with many of DR Elmore's in the Most Colorful Dream category.

Wow, what a detailed memory of your dream, BK!

Some fifteen years ago I decided to keep a dream journal for a while, and described the really elaborate ones in that kind of detail.  For a few of them I even made a sketch of the layout of the place I was dreaming about.  I gave up the practice after a few years, but still have a twinge of regret about doing so whenever one of those beautiful epics comes around.  Hell, I've had a few within the past few weeks that would have qualified for making the effort.  Those worlds and situations we create in our sleep are often quite fascinating and beautiful.

Here's something weird, though.  When you write them down like that, you "assume" you've documented them well enough that you'll be able to read them years later and picture them all over again.  That may be the case with many of them, but I took that journal out a couple of years ago and was stunned at the number of them, even those long ones described in that kind of detail, that resulted in a total blank!   :)

I know what you mean. That has happened to me when returning to my notes. There was apparently a lot that never made it to paper.

I stepped on the scale today
I am again convinced that the scale doesn't know what it's talking about

Mine's broken, too!!

The mirror lies, as well. I lost twenty pounds last year, and yet, when I look into the mirror, all I see is what I still wish to lose.
