Thanks Chas and Elmore...I didn't use her name,  but she's my only niece, so yes she's the one who is a former DR and went to NYC with me

Yes, Ginny, and she still thinks you are cute

That's reassuring, but I'm sure she's not thinking about THAT right now!

I've modified my post to remove her name.

I have to go back to the office on Monday after 3 weeks away. It will be hard but I'll live. I'm lucky to have a job and health insurance and money in the bank. I can't ask for much more. But I'm still counting. 8 more years (62-70).

Eight years is not so long DR BEN.  Eight years ago was 2007, and it seems like yesterday sometimes.

Please keep my Dear Niece in your thoughts and prayers.  She had severe abdominal pain last night and was rushed to the hospital. She ended up having emergency surgery in the middle of the night to stop some severe abdominal bleeding.  I don't really know more except that she is out of recovery, talking and may go home later today.   I haven't talked to anyone there, just got notified via email.  I have to wonder if it isn't related to her two c sections in a year and a half

Vibes and prayers for your niece, Cillaliz.

I texted her earlier and she texted me back so I just called her.  She can't talk very well because she had the breathing tube in during surgery. She sounds pretty weak, but it was still good to talk to her

Thanks for all the vibes.  I'm sure she'll be fine, but it's still pretty scary.

Well, time to check the laundry.  I'm trying to get all my errands and housework done before the weather changes tomorrow and I just want to stay inside.

DR lechienfou, Keith & I have gone to the parade a couple of times but never just to see the floats.  I wish we had done that.  We never took the children though which I would also liked to have done.

I have physical therapy this morning.   I've reached a status quo and it's doing nothing for me but keeping me limber and forcing me to exercise, which is not a bad thing at all.

That is how I felt after 2 years of PT.  Most of all I miss the shoulder massages my therapist gave me at the end of each session.  I can do the rest on my own.

I went to the float display 43 years ago today with my parents.  We'd gone to the Rose Bowl the day before to see Michigan lose to Stanford, but had not attended the parade.

Donna Douglas death is - a hoax.  I am so tired of these death hoaxes and there should be a way to launch a lawsuit against any site that thinks that sort of thing is funny.

Well, this is kicking up Facebook today. The PR's good but the story doesn't jive at all with what I heard about the causes for the delay:
