I felt increasingly awful during my work day today. Developed a horrible cough, which really hurt my head, and when I took my temperature when I got home, it was 102.

I was in bed for a while, but couldn't sleep. And so here I am.

My parents took me to see the Rose Parade floats on display after New Year's when I was young. I remember being mesmerized. I am sure actually working on them is pretty tough going.

When I lived in Arizona we went to see the floats after a parade, I think it was the Fiesta Bowl, anyway they were covered with flowers and everyone was taking all the flowers from the float. I thought it was crazy, but when in Rome. No one seemed to have a problem with it. The only thing I remember hearing is to make sure the people who worked on the float got some of the flowers. Is that normal?

Mom said DN Sam is home. I haven't called anyone directly. Thought I'd call tomorrow when they are more settled in. From what mom said I've kind of put 2 and 2 together and think I know what happened. She should be fine once she recovers from the surgery.

The weather man just said we are going to have a wicked wind tomorrow. I've never heard him say that before. We are also going into the negative temps for the next week. If I go anywhere tomorrow it will be going to breakfast. Then I'm staying home where it's warm.

Just finished Kismet. Only the second time I've seen the movie. It's a lot better than I remember, though it's far from a masterpiece. The Jack Cole choreography was quite good. So is Delores Gray.

I'm taking Airborne and Coldeez and Clairtan-D - just to make sure I don't get sick and I may even take a swig of NyQuil to help sleep tonight. I think if I can just get a couple of days' worth of really good sleep all will be well and well will be all.
