I watched about 11 minutes of GALAVANT, but all of the songs sounded ALIKE to me, and the ensemble was a mush mouthed mess.....hard to understand.

So since I didn't watch it all, I won't comment except to say I doubt I will watch any more of it.

I switched to HBO and watched THE HEAT with Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock, which I liked much more than I thought I would.

Sandra in her FBI pants suit went to dinner at McCarthy's house.....

Brother:  So are you a man or a woman?

Bullock: I'm a woman.

Brother: So you mean from the git go?  No surgery or nothing?

Bullock:  Uh....no....no....all woman.

Predictions are for our first BIG snowfall tonight......starting about 10 p.m.  We shall see.

I wandered over to the store just in case.

Does Massacre at Central High count?  or was that 1970's?

TOD:

From 1977....but it's one of my favorites - THE CAR

We saw the preview and there was some laughter at the beginning of it, by the end the entire theater was laughing long and loud.

I am home from my eye exam.  He put drops in my eyes, so everything is out of focus at the moment.

I thought the GALAVANT humor was very low - and I like low humor of the highest order - but I felt i'd seen and heard it all before in the TV series  WHEN THINGS WERE ROTTEN, KROD MÄNDOON: SWORD OF FIRE, ROBIN HOOD: MEN IN TIGHTS, SPAMALOT, and MONTY PYTHON.  It wasn't that I disliked it; I have been there before.

Good morning, all!

In 45 minutes or so I'll head for the bus; it will take me two - the 104 and the No. 5 - to get to 23rd and Fifth Avenue for my eye appointment.

You got an eye appointment!!!!   :)    I hope it went well.

Cilla,  I meant to tell you how happy I was that everything turned out all right for Sam ... a bunch of Long Island Lutherans prayed for her quick recovery yesterday and gave thanks for the medical team that saved her

Nice  :)

I should have waited to comment, only you didn't say how it went.  Are your eyes ok and do you need new glasses?

I finally fell asleep at 6:30 this morning & slept for an hour.  It took until close to 9:00 before I could actually drag myself out of bed.

I'm up, I'm up.  Got up at ten after about nine hours of sleep.  Helper came by and got stuff.  I haven't even started on futzing and finessing, but will shortly.  I think I'll deliver pages either tomorrow or wait until Thursday when it will have been a week since beginning.

Galavant holds no interest for me at all.  I'm sick to death of these "meta" musical things and self-referential and winky-winky things.

Another yokel opened a paypal dispute for a package not received - without the courtesy of sending us an e-mail.  I just don't get it.  I've already responded to it, but more importantly I've also happily provided Paypal with the tracking number of the package as well as - wait for it - confirmation of DELIVERY on 12/15.  Oops.  What these yokels truly don't get with their attitude is that once I provide that information they are out of luck, whether they got it or not.  We, Kritzerland, have fulfilled our end of things and Paypal can do nothing to us.  Now, sometimes things are delivered but somehow people don't get them.  I don't really understand that at ALL, but it happens.  We're always accommodating about it and do send a replacement, but we also ask them to speak to their post office to see how this can be.  If this yokel doesn't do what I have suggested, i.e. shut down the dispute immediately, then I'm afraid we're done with him.  IF he does shut it down, we'll send him a replacement, even though that means we are out the cost of a CD and a postage charge.

On the plus side, it's almost noon.  And that means "lunch".

Roast beef sammich.

Chopped salad.

Water.

I uploaded BK's remix of Follies on my new laptop yesterday and was surprised to see that the logo included on iTunes was for the Capitol CD release, Strange.

I am sooooo sleepy.  I've been lounging about all afternoon, fighting sleep.  I did the laundry as soon as I came in so I feel I've accomplished something today.

Update on the yokel - he found the CD in a pile of CDs sitting on his shelf.  He has apologized and said "the dispute is closed."  Only he didn't close it - apparently he's smart enough to OPEN it but not CLOSE it.  So, I called paypal and they closed it.

Had some chicken tenders for lunch.  Prior to that I futzed and finessed and now I suppose I'll mush on to the new chapter.

Good morning, all!

...

I'm not sure how I feel about GALAVANT, although I did like King John's number in the first episode.  I kept thinking, i've seen all this before.

I enjoyed it, for the most part.  A co-worker of mine turned it off after the opening number.  She wasn't impressed at all.
