Toyland was fun, not so tense as I thought it could be.

The bus ride back was a little insane.  Is there a full moon?

Last night, I dragged out that manuscript of poems John Mekeel gave me when i saw him on May 30, 2013.  It's all handwritten so i have the only copy, so far as I know.

He wrote a lvely inscription:
Dear Larry - I'm writing this on the 33 into N.Y.B. (Hey, that rhymes! Future poem perhaps?:
I'm on my way to start a new friendship with an old friend. Can't wait to see how it turns out!

Could I have helped him by letting him move in?  I will never know.  Perhaps I would have been the victim, although I doubt it.

God have mercy on him is all that I ask.

I was out, too.  Now I must get ready to go out again, to see the last performance of "The Game's Afoot".

No DR ELMORE it would have changed nothing.....

No full moon....moon is in the waning phase....but lots of Mercury activity this week makes people restless and bored and prone to getting into everyone else's business.

I just finished seeing The Grand Budapest Hotel on TV. I highly recommend it. One of the best movies I've seen in a long time.

Well written and acted. Beautiful designed and shot in three different aspect ratios one doesn't recognize right away. I m not sure (without looking it up) what the other two are, but one is 1:33 which was used before the advent of widesceen photography. I believe  it is callled Academy.

Sets and costumes are well done and some of the actors are unrecognizable.

If I am wrong about the aspect ratios please correct me.

Yes, the three main aspect ratios are all used in the film: Academy (1.33), widescreen (1.85) and scope (2.35)

Since I'm a vegetarian they fixed a delicious pasta primavera (that wasn't on the menu).

I've done over five pages now.  Back to the movie, then one or two more before the second movie.

Sounds good.  Next time I'm in Maryland maybe we can visit charming Old Town Alexandria.  We were there years and years ago.

Saturday evening greetings!  It's been a busy day.  This morning I presided at AAUW Middletown's January branch meeting, which had a great turnout of 30 people.  Not bad for a blustery cold Saturday morning!  Went from there directly to the home of DN Lauren and her husband Jim.  They were having a belated holiday gathering with her sisters and their families.  Richard and Rob met me there and Mary Linda eventually arrived from work.

DR Ginny I thought of you today.  I recall, ages ago, you were looking for an individual flavor of tootsie roll pops.  I found a loose assortment of them today in the bulk section of the market.  In your honor I purchased two pops, cherry & chocolate, since I wasn't sure which flavor you had been looking for.  Did you ever find them?
