Of course I should not have worried I would not finish mylibrary book in time.  I did so with 11 days to spare.  It was a perfect book for my sleepless nights, perfect in that I didn't want to put down."The Pearl that Broke Its Shell"

That's the February selection for my AAUW book group!

TOD:

Loved the Dr Pepper commercial with David Naughton dancing around.

There's also this shorter version:

I'm up, I'm up, barely.  So annoyed with myself - forgot to turn the heat off and it has completely trashed me - please send excellent vibes and xylophones that I don't get sick - my throat feels a bit sore, but I'm sure it all has to do with the damn heat blowing on me all damn night.  Did NOT sleep well at all - maybe five hours.

~~~Excellent Vibes and Xylophones for BK!!~~~
DR George I like your new shirt.
Thanks!  I'm going to wear it tomorrow.
Looks great. Glad Hawaiian shirts are coming back, not that I ever stopped wearing mine.
Thursday afternoon greetings!  We've been to a funeral and the luncheon afterwards.  The deceased was the 93-year-old father of our across-the-street neighbor Mark.
DR Elmore, did you know an optometrist in town named Dr. John Rolfes?  We didn't know him, but Mark and his wife Rosemary appreciated our being there.
Never heard of him.
We hadn't, either.  Apparently his office was downtown, maybe on South Main Street.
Yes DR DRUXY....that commercial was on SUPERMAN a lot!
I never missed Superman...or The Lone Ranger.
I was a deprived child.  I never had a Superman suit.   :(
On the other hand, as an adult, The Lone Ranger (Clayton Moore) was my neighbor.   :)
Did you ever see him without his mask on?
Of course.  That's how I met him.
I was in the bank, standing at a teller's window, and I heard his voice behind me.  Recognized it immediately.
I turned around, and said: "Oh, my God!"
"What?" he said.
"I've never seen you without your mask."
He didn't think that was funny, but later on we became friendly.  In fact, there's a picture of the two of us together at Steve Kanaly's ski event in MY FORTY-FIVE YEARS IN HOLLYWOOD...AND HOW I ESCAPED ALIVE.
Keith still wears them and I am very happy he does.  Often he wears a nice, matching or dark colored, t-shirt under the Hawaiian shirt and leaves it unbuttoned.  I like that look.
That is funny.  I was joking about the mask.  I'm guessing he had simply heard that about a million times ;)  I do not laugh when asked where Tarzan is :)
Just found out that the first heat I'm in during Saturday's competition is Heat No. 1. The last is Heat No. 261. It's gonna be a long day.
DR Cillaliz, thanks for the account of your client's case.
You're welcome.  I had a nice conversation with her today when I stopped by her house to give her a copy of the verdict form.  She said they all still had nightmares about the trial still going on last night. I'm sure they will get better now that it's over
I went to work today  but discovered I am both brain dead and really exhausted.  I think I live on adrenaline the whole time I'm in trial.  I'm just totally wiped out today. I'd call it a hangover, but I haven't had anything to drink.  I don't bounce back quite as easily as I did a few years back. So I did a few things and came home.  I've been sitting in my recliner all afternoon....and answering some email about work, lol.   Anyway, tonight Paul and I are going out for our Christmas dinner.  We never quite got around to it until now.   I've been thirsty for a Moscow Mule for about 2 weeks and haven't had one, so I'm looking forward to that
Congrats to BK on finishing the book. I think Mr Speedy Gonzales can write a novel faster than I can read one. I've always been impressed when writers can turn out a new novel each year.
Congrats on a productive shopping trip to DR George.
I have two Hawaiian-ish shirts that I like very much and would love to see come back into style.
