I think if I get out of here by ten-fifteen I'll stop and get some of that Zicam stuff and that elderberry stuff.  Why not?  I'm popping everything else, heaven knows.

Jeanne I was skeptical about the homeopathic method (oh yes,  I was skeptical) but I woke  this morning feeling  fine-  no sore throat,  no nasal congestion, no sneezing  just a very sore nose from the sneezing yesterday    I used the Zicam nasal spray and  Sambucol black elderberry cold & flu relief quick dissolve tablets

Elmore, if you can get your hands on these I highly recommend them.

I'm glad it worked.  I shall have to look for these.

Bruce, you forgot to check, or looked at the wrong day, the calendar.  Thank you DR Kevin for reminding us of DR Kate's birthday.

TOD:

The symphony is doing Strauss' La Valse and the Ravel concerto for left hand. Then there's plenty of dancing and judging a chili cook-off and the Super Bowl and I think that's enough.

DR John G, Ravel composed "La Valse."

Thank you. I guess I should learn what I'm hearing tonight. The Strauss pieces are Der Rosenkavalier First Waltz Sequence and Burleske, while the Ravel pieces include La Valse, Concerto for Left Hand and Valses nobles and sentimentales

City Ballet has revived for the first time in a while Balanchine's epic death-and-the-maiden ballet "La Valse," and I hope i can assemble enough money to see it on ether their February or May programs.

I just answered the phone: it was my animal rescue neighbor and the marital battle continues.  She never asks, are you busy? just jumps right into the madness. Oy.

DR JohnG, here's a comparison of Balanchne's "La Valse" to Poe's "The Masque of the Red Death."

Well, guess who's sick?

I think I'm going to cancel therapy, go back to bed, and stay there for the day.

I just looked up Zicam.  It appears to basically be the same thing as Afrin, not homeopathic :(

Travel vibes for DR GINNY.....have fun at the conference.

They are predicting 2-4" inches of snow tomorrow and more on Sunday.

Thanks, DR JRand!  I'm settled at my gate at Dayton International Airport with a nice chicken Caesar wrap in my bag for lunch on the plane.

Would love to see this. Sounds like Balanchine at his best.

Just spent an hour and a half snow blowing, widening and cleaning up the edges of the driveway, clearing and salting the front sidewalk, and I don't know what the hell else.  What I DO know is:

I'm done!   :)

Home from a half day of school today. Going to work on the musical a bit, then heading to meet with the lyric writer (I can't use the word lyricist cuz, that's not what he is) as tomorrow someone is going to listen to what we have so far.  So far, nothing sounds like Sondheim, so I think I'm good.

Tonight, I'm going to see a production of "Amadeus" - which I've never seen on stage.  I need to keep the caffeine flowing, I think.

When we moved to Connecticut we had a good sized circular driveway.  The first time it snowed a plow pulled up and the driver said he had been plowing the driveway for years and did we want him to continue.  Of course I said YES! :)

From there we moved back to Michigan to another house with a circular driveway, this one larger and on a hill.  Again someone who had been plowing our house and the neighbors stopped by.  He offered us a flat rate or a charge each time.  We paid him a flat rate.  Some years we had a better deal other years he did.

Here Keith does it all and this is our biggest driveway yet.  Before my shoulder I helped.  I do a little shoveling if it is bad out but not much.
