Jane to answer your question from yesterday. It's Zicam cold remedy in the lower right hand corner of the box in small white letters it says zinc free. Homeopathic

Researching the ingredients on the homeopathic Zicam I could only find the reason it says "no zinc". Apparently spraying zinc in your nose is not healthy for it and the original Zicam with zinc was pulled.

This pool is known to disqualify a lot. Sadly the #1 team from my niece's pool got disqualified. They would have come in first (not that they get medals or anything).

Why are they disqualified? Is it something the children or the coach do wrong or for something they can't really help?

There are many reasons the swimmer can be disqualified. Each stroke has its own rules. You can only touch the wall with one hand in back and front, and two hands in breast and fly. The turns are a big thing. For relays it is the turns or if you go in before the swimmer before you touches the wall.

The biggest thing is backstroke. You cannot turn to look for the wall. And the turns have to be done a certain way.

Concert was wonderful. Perlman doesn't announce what he's going to play until he plays it. So there was no program.

He performed Beethoven's Violin Concert No. 8, which was playful and joyous; Grieg's Violin Concerto No. 3, highly melodic; and a Ravel Sonata plus some Fritz Krizler pieces. Highly enjoyable.

Finally back from a tech run-through and some clean-up, then birthday dinner with Sami and mom. Shockingly, Genghis Cohen was closed for maintenance so we ended up at Ruth's Chris for a hugely fun dinner.

It's weird - one of my cast members today reported that Cathy Rigby, doing some flying in Seussical (why is anyone's guess), had a wire break or malfunction, falling eight feet to the ground face first. According to my cast member, several teeth broke and there were bruised ribs and such. But the weird part is that there hasn't been one thing about this anywhere on the Internet, so either it's being kept a big, big secret or it didn't happen.

Well, I'm back from seeing Alexis' one-woman cabaret show, "Confessions of an Ex-Unicorn." It was a delightfully delightful show about her relationships...and she got pretty personal!

She had some good stories (all actual experiences) but some of her stories were longer than the songs that went with them. Her whole show including intermission was about 2 hour and 20 minutes long.
