Those types of gatherings can be absolutely thankless and disheartening, DR Elmore.  I've been learning this both online and in person.  Sorry to hear this one was such a bust.  Drink a toast to yourself and your accomplishments and your friends, and tomorrow will be another day.  (Or so I've heard.)

In fact, I shall drink that very toast this evening at my friend's birthday dinner.  No one will be the wiser.     :)

There are many reasons I avoid alum anything. And Elmore has landed on one of them.

I'll second what ChasSmith said.

Back from lunch (Cobb salad and a bagel) and some errands and whatnot and trying to deal with the day from HELL.  It began with utter crap from the people who funded the And the World Goes Round recording - I am so sick of these people and so sorry I ever did the album.  One more peep out of them and I will devote two entire notes to this debacle.

Then my stage manager informed me she has a work emergency and can't get to us in time for our run-through.  Needless to say, that is not acceptable to me on a final dress and I made her contact every member of the company to see if they were okay starting a half hour later (they are) but we now have to call all the people we'd asked to come see it tonight and tell them to arrive later.  And it gives us no time with her to address problems before we begin.  I'm fairly furious about it.

Hopefully Mercury will go into some other grade soon.  I really can no longer take these people - I should have said no to the album immediately, and kept saying no.  Every time I would try to stop it from going forward, they convinced me to mush on and that everything would be fine.  It ain't and never has been because these people have no knowledge whatsoever of how things work in the recording industry.  It's shocking.

And here I thought my day was lousy.  I'm sorry, BK.

I had trouble last night but so far my only problem here today is that it has been quiet.  Maybe the reason for that is that others are also having problems.
