I really want to win that embroidered apron

Like on Dancing with the Stars, all that work for just a mirror ball trophy.

And a million bucks, right? It isn't just something you'd keep in a bathroom as a towel holder.

Saw about a dozen roseate spoonbills today. They're always so beautiful. Wish I had a megabuck camera to get closer images.

We were headed to lunch today when we ran into a bride-to-be in the hotel. She was crying and mumbling about how she couldn't find anyone to do her hair. The groom was in the kiddie pool and the people who were supposed to decorate her reception were partying early instead. And the elevators weren't working. We made sure she got to the right floor, but she was a wreak.

At 3, I walked out to the beach, which is where the wedding was about to take place. The wind was so bad that she needn't have worried about her hair. But she looked gorgeous and, best of all, she looked happy.

And we now know at least the root problem of Laura, Kerry and KevinH.  All three use cox.net and for some reason when we went offline for twelve hours and then came back, cox.net for reasons no one seems to understand, blocked the site.  We're trying to get it unblocked now, hopefully by tomorrow.

Is it legal to serve meatloaf without mashed potatoes and gravy?

Good morning, all.

Have a wonderful Sunday.

John, every time I read your quote, I read the source as Otto Hamlisch.

Of course, Otto did write THEY'RE PLAYING OUR GIN!

Our county is now on a Level 2 snow emergency, which means "Don't go out unless you absolutely have to."

I don't believe we have such a thing as a snow emergency of any level.

I'm here, but not through my internet provider.  I had the bright idea to use my phone as a mobile hotspot, but since my data is limited, I don't want to have to do this all the time.

I was on the phone with the cable company for well over 2 hours, and spoke with four different people.  The first woman at first couldn't get HHW on her computer but later did.  She was quite annoyed that I couldn't figure how to restart my computer, which I guess I should have figured out by now (I got the new laptop a few months ago and it's windows 8 and set up differently from my previous laptops).  She told me once I restarted I should have no problem.  Well, I figured it out, restarted, but no cigar.

The next guy transferred me to someone else who didn't know why he did that and transferred me back to the general number and I had to explain the problem all over again.  The next  guy said it sounded like an easy fix.  Later in the conversation he apologized for saying that and transferred me to someone else.  Oh wait, that's five people!

The last woman was very patient (and she thanked me for being patient too).  She had me go to some special page and do a "trace route," which proved to be unsuccessful.  SHe had me copy the results and email them to her so she could forward them to someone else.  She said she would call me today. Haven't heard from her so far.

I don't believe we have such a thing as a snow emergency of any level.

We're still at level 2 because of blowing and drifting snow and refreezing where a little melting took place earlier.  It's a mess.
