Voldemort is basically a middle school girl: he has a locket, a diary, a tiara, a ring, and is completely obsessed with a teenage boy.

Thanks very much for the computer instructions, DR Ben.  Unfortunately, I have windows 8 and I can't find that page you talked about.

If you want to quickly calculate the number of calendar days between two dates, here is a website that will save you some time:
http://www.timeanddate.com/date/duration.html

I was born on May 5, 1966, so this is how old I am (including today):

From and including: Thursday, May 5, 1966
To and including: Monday, March 2, 2015

Result: 17,834 days
It is 17,834 days from the start date to the end date, end date included
Or 48 years, 9 months, 26 days including the end date

Alternative time units:

17,834 days can be converted to one of these units:
◾1,540,857,600 seconds
◾25,680,960 minutes
◾428,016 hours
◾17,834 days
◾2547 weeks and 5 days

Oops. I thought you might have 7. I've never used 8 and I know the changes to the screen are enough that I couldn't tell you where things might be. You might even have an early version of 8 which did away with the start button completely.

Here is a link to some visuals that might help. It's how to clear the DNS when you're on Windows 8 or 8.1

And I am now on my way to the first official rehearsal of "Laughing Stock."  I just have to sharpen my pencil, then I'm off.

Be back later!

Crazy day. Lots of work, then an evening of ushering.

One of the benefits of ushering is that sometimes you get to be in the theater during the sound check. Before his concert tonight, Lang Lang just played around on the piano for about 45 minutes and just for the 15 or so ushers in the theater. We were all rapt as he went through the Bach Italian Concerto, a Chopin Schertzo and some stuff that he's apparently working on, because he had the scores handy. He played so long that they were afraid he was going to miss the 7:30 start time.

But he disappeared into the wings, changed clothes and came out and played 2.5 hours of incredible music. He changed the way he played the Bach. In the sound check, the andante movement was faster, almost playful. In concert, it was very studied and deliberate.

I won't forget that concert for quite a while. Just a thrill.

He also played Tchaikovsky's "The Seasons," which I was unfamiliar with but also really enjoyed.

I think the walls are horrendous, but boy are the pouches cute :)

Is that recreating "the twins" from THE SHINING?

From DR TCB:
Quote
Jane, I am not sure I understand what you mean.  Sandy has gone on several repositioning cruises.  That is how he got the free cruise (the very expensive, free cruise).  We fly to Ft. Lauderdale on the 21, and sail on the 22nd.

Wasn't there a friend who planned to take a cruise with you that has a habit of backing out do to fear of flying?

Possibly, but I can't think who it would be.

Oh Tom, I am sorry to read about your sister.  Have you been able to see her?

Thanks to all of the HHW vibes, she is doing much better.  They have the kidneys functioning again, she may go home in a day or two.
