George, it sounds like you and I are a lot alike.  No matter how well I know my lines at home, in the car, or in the lobby;  the first time I do them onstage in front of the director and my fellow actors, I go up on the easiest line.

I have had a cough for the last couple of weeks, but I thought it was getting better.  Today I coughed in front of a friend of mine, and she looked at me like I was near death.

Strangely, I don't cough in my sleep any more.  Thank goodness.

My cough is still hanging on, but it's so much better.  I did take the codine to sleep last night and will likely take it again tonight as I really need some sleep

My week is getting better, the case that's caused me  all kinds of grief is almost done.  I convinced them to drop federal charges and offer my client a state misdemeanor instead.  We got the misdemeanor done and the motion to dismiss by the government is pending in federal court.  I don't foresee any problems with that.   Now one more sentencing and I'm never going back to federal court again

We had a good rehearsal at band tonight.  Lots of people were missing, but I actually like those rehearsals. We seem to spend more time really rehearsing the details for those who are there. We're going to have 6 flutes this concert. The first concert this year there were 11.  That was too many.

or is it possible I mean it this time?   Yes.  In the past I said I was done because I was tired of it, or because I wanted to do different work.  This time, it's because I really got sandbagged by the AUSA and because I understand that the US Atty's office doesn't play fair.  I'm getting too old to deal with their BS and I refuse to go through it any more.  I suppose if someone paid me some ungodly amount of money to take a case there I might, but I'm not even sure that would do it

April 11th. It's the last one of the year.  I think we're finishing pretty early this year, but it is what it is

How many concerts do you do every year?  Are they all held at the same venue?

I went to the eye doctor today.  My eyes haven't changed much at all...actually for years they haven't changed much at all.  They are basically healthy, I just have minor dry eye issues.  Anyway, I picked out my every other year pair of new glasses.  I figure once every two years is pretty good.  The funny thing is I'm going back to frameless - they are rounder than the ones in my avatar.  I haven't had frameless glasses in over 5 years but there they are in my avatar, lol

The nice thing is I can switch between my last three pairs of glasses and they are all close enough that after 10-15 minutes I can see just fine.  Of course after 2 years, they are usually pretty worn - I tend to get lots of tiny scratches on my lenses after a while.  They weren't cheap and my insurance didn't help much, but I don't mind spending a little more on something I'm going to wear every day for the next two years

We do 4 at the auditorium of a local college, then we do things like a ice cream social - but we didn't do that this year, for some reason, we do the Little Yellow Dog auction, and smaller groups of us play marches and patriotic stuff for Veteran's Day or other such gatherings when we are asked.  We don't play in the summer.

I think I need glasses again.  I knew it was too good to be true.  Of course, I have gone without my glaucoma drops for the last two years, so I am not surprised.  I go to my new eye doctor on Tax Day / Titanic sank Day.
