THE PRIVATE READING

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were private and yet not, and now it is time for you to post until the private cows come home.

For the TOD, among people we know, I think BK is among the very best, but it seems that recently BK's work is starting to be more widely sung and appreciated.

Of course, I think Skip's work is not well-known enough - yet!

Among people we don't really know personally, I think Michael Stewart never really got his due in terms of reputation as a lyricist, but that may be because he only wrote lyrics for two hit shows, I Love My Wife and Barnum.  i think Martin Charnin is undervalued as well, in terms of his overall body of work.

Good morning, all!  I dreamed i was back at Goodspeed with my friend Meggie Cansler. The Big Dream before that is too fragmented now for me to remember.

Today is  City Center with Joshie day. It should be fun.  I have to work on "Happy Birthday," which is being being transposed for Zoe Wannamaker.

BK's day was a party I wish my days were.  He gets a couple of fun rehearsals, although Sami's was more a tryout performance, and I get a long laundry day: clothes and bedding and a royal workout assembling the bed with new mattress cover, sheets and blankets.  Why don't the manufacturers of contour sheets and mattress pads tell the buyer which side of these items is the long side and the short side? By the time I've figured it out, I'm exhausted.

Good morning, all.

Thank you, all, for the job vibes. If it's not meant to be right now, then that's OK. The plate is overflowing at the moment.

I would like to see David Friedman and John Bucchino better known outside the cabaret world. They have written so many wonderful songs. Friedman was lucky to have had Nancy LaMott to record so many of them.

TOD:

Many of the names already listed, but I will add Bob Merrill...especially his ensemble numbers for NEW GIRL IN TOWN....and couple of the solos, including "Did You Close Your Eyes?".....

And this....although it's a great duet in the show.
