I pretty much agree with BK's assessment of KIDNAPPING MR. HEINEKEN.

It's nothing great, but an okay way to pass the time.

Sad day.

One of the great character actors of all time Christopher Lee has passed away.

He was my publicity client when he lived in Los Angeles during the mid-1970s.

TOD:
I love broccoli, cauliflower and zucchini all stir-fried together - maybe in some butter and salt and pepper and a little garlic. I only like onions if they're very well cooked while raw onions have a texture I despise. I HATE HATE HATE beans and peas. And when I say, "beans" that doesn't include string beans, which are wonderful. I'm talking about black beans, navy beans, kidney beans, refried beans, etc. etc. They really do make me want to vomit on the ground, mostly because of the texture. I can only tolerate lentils because they're so small, but I don't particularly like them either. I love all the little vegetables you tend to get in Chinese food like watercress, mushrooms, bean sprouts, peapods, and those little mini corns-on-the-cob. Unfortunately, Mark hates all those vegetables, so we always have to ask the waiter to remove them from everything. I've had a couple of eggplant dishes I enjoyed but only because it's usually drowning in butter and garlic or melted cheese.

I like corn....served just about any way.....corn on the cob is messy to eat, but it is a fine summertime treat.

I like to fry some corn with green peppers (not the spicy kind)....it is a nice side dish.

Other than that you can take vegetables and eat them yourself.

Thanks for all the comments on the story of my uncle George.  I was still thinking about it after I wrote it, so my sister and I got out our picture books.

He and Jim were NOT identical twins, George was quite a bit taller.  We have a few pictures of him.  He liked to dress up and wear what I guess we could call a golfer's hat.

There were also a few pictures of his girl friend.....they never got as far as engagement.....  Her name is Opal, and she is a pretty girl.

I asked my Dad about the the day he died.  My dad was 9 years old.  He said that the man from the sawmill came to their house and got Grandma and took her to the hospital where they had taken George.  He lived for a few hours after the accident, but never spoke.

They had the funeral in their home where the casket was for a day or two....and he was buried in the IOOF cemetery where Grandma is buried.

Uncle Jim married a wealthy woman (our Aunt Mary who is still living and is a hard-working great lady) and had three kids....but he was always a bit sad and drank quite a bit.

Thursday morning greetings!  Today I must pick up some flowers and go to the hospital to visit our AAUW treasurer who fell yesterday and broke several bones.  Vibes for Karen would be appreciated...

We have a long, beautiful walking path along the water.  We know people who also bike it.  Keith would like to get a bike and othets have suggested it.  I would love to do also get one but am too afraid of sometghing happening that would cause me to fall off.  The path is concrete.
