fun folks at the House of Pies.

I tried to make a joke here about Fun Home, but it didn't quite come together. In a way that made any sense.      :P

And you let that stop you, Singdaw? Why?

Hi DR John G. from landlocked Tucson! I was listening to some ethnographic recordings that were transferred from old 78s to CD, and one was a recording from Hawai'i made in the Teens or Twenties. I think it was its own country then, or maybe a protectorate. But certainly exotic. Have a great time!

We have a long, beautiful walking path along the water.  We know people who also bike it.  Keith would like to get a bike and othets have suggested it.  I would love to do also get one but am too afraid of sometghing happening that would cause me to fall off.  The path is concrete.

As long as you are comfortable riding a bike i would not be concerned about falling off. I have never fallen off mine, although I do have to keep an eye out around the lake for branches or rocks.  You could always get one of those adult three wheelers if you are worried about having an accident.

I am more worried about being knocked off my a dog or person.

Back from delivering a lovely bouquet of daisies in a bubble bowl to Karen and getting the full story of her mishap.  She was walking to her car outside her new apartment with her arms full and fell against the headlight of her car.  That shattered her left knee and, when she tried to get up, she fell again and broke her right arm.  She had surgery on both last night and is looking at 6 weeks recovery, at least.

She's left-handed, which is about the only bright spot in an otherwise pretty grim situation.

Poor thing.  I wish her very good healing & coping vibes!

Best thing may be to get some knee and elbow pads and a bike helmet. That way you will be safer.

I like watching bats fly around but would not like one close enough to bite me.  I'm glad you also thought to call the vet.

DR Dan I have osteoporosis and have not forgotten the pain from when the dog knocked me down and broke my shoulder in 4 places.  It is hard to forget when the pain never really goes away, just has good days.

I've been reading a lot online about rabies over the past week, as you can imagine.  I saw something about pets getting a booster so I called the vet.  Glad I did

That is understandable. I've always feared falling on ice from all the times in the past that I did, so I can empathize.

I have done that too many times.  Now that I have concetns I am extra careful.  Keith also watches out for me if it is icy out.

It was much cooler today in Tacoma.  75 degrees.  Hopefully our dry weather will last another week for the U.S. Open.

Well, time for me to leave work.  Theater Artists Olympia is having our $5 Preview for our latest production, Tartuffe!  I'm not directly involved, but I'll be house manager tonight (basically, selling tickets and concessions) and a couple of other nights.  I don't really know anything about the show, other than it's completely rhymed.  I'm sure it'll be good!

Be back later!

I really had no idea what "Tartuffe" was about before seeing the show tonight.

All the actors were very good in their respective roles...and all that rhyming!

Their script (adaptation is credited to "The TAO Collective") was easy to follow and quite funny.
