My little left-hand-only exercise was quite interesting. There are some things I just can't do with my left hand, such as write. I can now hold a pen in my right hand again--or a fork. My hand is still somewhat stiff, but this is sooo much better!

As for what I did to cause this, I don't really know. I did some cleaning on Saturday, then my hand started hurting. At first I thought it was arthritis, but it kept getting worse. Icing and Arnica cream seemed to help. When I'm on my laptop (my only computer) the edge tends to hit my wrists. I don't think that's what did it, but I do feel it's something I need to address. I need to protect my wrists. I have an Incrediwear wrist brace that I'm wearing right now. It's very comfortable. I think I need to wear it more often. Wrists tend to be delicate and I could take a proactive approach, instead of waiting until I have a sprain.

I need to take care of a few things, then will return. My Usual Routine was turned upside-down by this little escapade.

Or....are they those weird animals in Australia?

Oh shoot!  Today is the 22nd.  That means this Friday starts the Taste of Tacoma.

Today is also my parents' 51st wedding anniversary!

the Taste of Tacoma.

Otherwise known as The Invasion.

You got that right.  And this year it is supposed to be perfect weather.  85 to 90 degrees all three days!

Perfect??  That's too hot for me. :P

Does anyone remember the flying toaster screen saver, from the early days of computers?

Yes!  I always wanted to get that.  I though it was, at (and for) the time, really cool!

Happy to say we have finally set the last piece of the Kritzerland puzzle - our guest star: the wonderful Gloria Loring - Liz Chandler from Days of Our Lives (now the third person I've worked with from that soap - Kevin Spirtas, Matt Ashford being the other two), but I knew her from her 1968 album Gloria Loring, Today on MGM records.  She also was married to Alan Thicke, and with him wrote the theme songs for the TV series Diff'rent Strokes and The Facts of Life.

Very good news, BK!

There are certain words and names that are just fun to write and/or say.

Like Okoboji.

Or chilaquiles.

I just received in the mail the world premiere studio cast recording to the "new" Vernon Duke musical, "Misia," starring Marin Mazzie.  Reading the liner notes, it has a very interesting history.  Vernon Duke wrote the score to a French libretto, entitled Milord l'Arsouille ("Lord Rogue") about Lord Henry Seymour.  It was never translated successfully into English, so Vernon Duke's widow (who had the score) allowed Barry Singer to write a whole new show about Misia Sert, "the celebrated muse of fin de siècle Paris."  What's interesting is that Vernon Duke is an actual character in this new show, although the character doesn't sing.  I just got it so hopefully I'll get to listen to it today.

Most people don't know that the song in Merrily We Roll Along entitled "That Frank" was originally titled "That Fred."        :)
