I remember Gloria Loring and Alan Thicke from a Canadian TV show called "The Party Game."  It was charades, but not with titles, it was with long phrases (some Shakespeare, I think , but other made=up phrases.  Martin Short and Billy Van were also on it.  I'd say this was in about 1976 or so.

I even got an e-mail sent last night confirming the appointment. Of course, since I have no Internet I couldn't see it...

You have no Internet? We'll send you an email to tell you what to do.

Good ole Verizon. I don't think they think things through.

Whenever I call Comcast to report that I have no Internet connection, their ads while I'm on hold always include messages that "you can go online to find out any outages in your area." ???

Exactly.

So, instead, I put on a hairnet and served myself a cup of joe!

It's hard telling what I heard, it could have been a bat trying to get in outside or in the wall, it could have been something else outside, it could have been one of the cats doing something, I don't know. It could have been the news paper hitting the house.  Who knows...it could have been almost anything

You were spooked. I was too after my bat encounter. They may be small creatures, but they are FRIGHTENING.

The overall sleep deficit on HHW right now, for one reason or another, is pretty overwhelming.

Yes, it is. I blame the Heavens.

Well, it's time for me to leave and usher.  I also need to get something to eat because I didn't take time to go to lunch and I'm hungry.

I hate it when that happens. :P

...and here we are in Palo Alto, CA!  My plane landed early at SFO and I made my way to the rental car center where I found Richard enjoying a cup of Earl Grey.  He'd only been waiting about half an hour.  We picked up our silver Subaru Outback and found our Palo Alto hotel with no problem.  Went downtown for late lunch/early dinner and made an appointment for a 1-hour tour of Stanford University tomorrow at 11.  From there we'll stop in Cupertino to visit the Apple mothership on our way to Monterey, which will be home until Friday.

I am watching TO MUCH, TOO SOON......the story of Miss Diana Barrymore....or I guess I should say...the purported story of....

I liked the book......the movie is....well it's more truthful than HARLOW or FRANCES....which is on later tonight on TCM.....but it's kind of a mess.

Dorothy Malone said once that she used to see people at restaurants and industry functions after the movie was released and she thought they were looking at her and wondering why they voted her an Oscar for WRITTEN ON THE WIND......

Office Depot has screwed me over on a delivery today, snd my anger at the situation is quite  vivid at the moment.  They tell me it's out for delivery, yet UPS claims they haven't picked the damed shipment up!

Heads will roll.

And now back to work.

Things are very hectic. We move in less than a month and there is much work to be done before then.

DR Ben, I'll be visiting your San Francisco outpost on Monday, completing my circuit of all 5 major sites.  But, once your location is moved, I'll have to visit there, too!

Hope it all goes smoothly.

It rained again, very heavy at the house.

So the mold count is extraordinarily high and breathing is not exactly fun at the moment.

Watching an oddity called "The Pink Angels" about some burly bikers who are really drag queens. Dan Haggerty in an early performance. Really bad stereotypes, jokes, et al. Don't know if I can last all 80 minutes of it.

What great activities you have planned DR Ginny!  Do you do a lot of homework ahead of time, or do you just go with the flow once you get there?

Got distracted by an impromptu cocktail party out on the neighbor's deck. A delightful, cool summer evening.
