I don't want to take any chances.

Yikes!!  You shouldn't, and glad that you are not.

Thanks, DR Singdaw.  It's probably nothing, but I have a bag packed - just in case.  You know, the necessities like phone and iPad charging cords, knitting, reading glasses, and an extra book.

Smart to be prepared.  VIBES YOU DON'T NEED IT!!!

I happen to love I Happen to Like New York. Those chords striking that hymn-like tone.

IMO, Porter's worst is I Sing of Love from Kiss Me, Kate.

Chacun a son gout!  I'm quite fond of "We Sing of Love," which the last revisal of Kiss Me, Kate proved that no one knew what to do with it.  It's especially wonderful in the Tarantella dance arrangement, and I love "I Happen To Like New York."  There are a lot of numbers between "Dubarry Was A Lady" and "Kiss me, Kate" that could compete for the worst Cole Porter song.

Maybe we should list the worst songs by major theatre composers: Sondheim, Irving Berlin, Rodgers, Kern, etc.  they all have them.  When we did the Victor Herbert Collected songs, I cut one titled something like "Indian Lullaby" because it was such a poor attempt to write something Native American.  It was a complete embarrassment.

Thanks, DR George, for noticing and commemorating my modest millstone. I hadn't even noticed!       :-*

Anytime!

Stage Manager could not find the plastic funnel I bought him to pour the colored water into the liquor bottles....no where to be found.....  I asked him where he left it...he said beside the sink....which of course LINDA says is HER sink, not the dishwashing sink....

So during the cast meeting before the show, since she was there to take production photos, I asked everyone if they had seen the funnel....that it was missing, and I hated to have to buy another one.

Linda spoke up and said, "I hid it, it was left on the counter where it shouldn't have been."

And I said: "Well maybe we put it there as a gift for you."

She didn't say anything....but NOW everyone knows.....

I can honestly say that I have never had the "pleasure" to have worked with someone who's as much of a pill as this Linda. :-\

I've heard stories from friends, but never from first-hand experience.

Thanks for the vibes, DRs ChasSmith and Jane.  NP Leah sent me right to the hospital for an ultrasound and it was determined that I do not have a blood clot - whew!

Back from a jog and must now get ready for rehearsal, as people are coming early to run stuff before the stumble-through.

This old bitch needs to be taken down, DR JRand64! Can't someone arrange for her to break a leg literally or a neck?

Indeed it is, DR George, thanks!  RN Judy from the office just called to confirm my results and said the recommendation is rest and elevation.  Do they know how badly this household needs me to go to the grocery?  And that I have a family party at DN Lauren's to attend tonight?

DR Ginny, just have them carry you in a litter through the supermarket.  Everything gets done, everybody's happy.

There is a board for the Playhouse, DR JRand64?  Can't they slap her down or remind her of her position in the scheme of things?

Mine for Sondheim would be Boom, Crunch, dropped from Into the Woods in favor of Last Midnight, which was not much of an improvement.

Have to think about the others.

We've got a beautiful day here.  Tomorrow is going to be crappy -- in the 60s with rain likely.  Then Sunday is good again.  I don't know why they can't get it right.

I am glad some people enjoy that particular Cole Porter ditty......my only exposure to it was on an old Judy Garland "Live" album....and maybe her version didn't do it justice.....DR BEN don't click on the link.

I prefer Harold Lang on the recording of "Decline and Fall of the Entire World as Seen Through the Eyes of Cole Porter."

Gloria Loring seems to be such a delightful person.  A couple of years back, I had asked her and Alan Thicke if I could do an online parody of one of their theme songs and both of them couldn't have been nicer about it.
