I've never seen Penn and Teller's show, but the Broadway version just got raves from everyone and it sounds great.

I am going to buy some new clothes.  I would like a new suit, but if I don't find anything I like, I will just get some pants and shirts....

NOT AT GOODWILL.....so this is a switch for me.....just decided I need something new.

Richard and I are going to a piano/clarinet recital this evening at the local Miami campus.  It's part of a series of programs and I'm looking forward to the catered "light supper" which is usually quite good.  Especially since I don't have to plan and cook it.

This is really cool - a "Google glass" solution for opera?

Opera goers wear special glasses, which project the translation into their field of vision, in real time, in the language they select...

Actually, DR Singdaw, I'm looking forward to the music, too.  The clarinetist is an acquaintance from my work with the nonprofit community.

Just a thought, culled from the very things BK said in his column today:

Bruce:  Why not an original musical called "Then and Now"....with rear screen projections of "your" L.A. and songs about key points of interest and your experiences there, juxtaposed with (or segueing into) the "now" pix being projected and a song about how that makes you feel?

It could be a love letter to the old L.A.

And yet, it's something he is VERY WELL VERSED IN, with all his memories of L.A. and his stories told in his Kritzerland novels.

Here's a link to a PDF of the Paul Williams tribute program.  It was a wonderful evening.  And good lord, there was a lot of stuff I'd forgotten about.

http://home.comcast.net/~chasmith7/PaulWilliams2001.pdf

"Loser's Lounge" has done some great stuff.  I went to a few of their shows back in the day.  In particular, I remember this one and a Brian Wilson one that was also quite wonderful.  I guess they're still going strong, but I haven't gotten down there for that in years.

Has Paul Williams written anything recently?  My very favorite song by Mr. Williams is "You and Me Against the World".
