This film version of Miss Julie is really intense. Loving Jessica Chastain, Samantha Morton and Colin Ferrell, even if it's depressing.

Jessica Chastain keeps on having a sort of last laugh artistically with the people who were so unnecessarily rough on her stage performance in "The Heiress."

The most direct revenge would be if she did a film version of "The Heiress" and triumphed and won all sorts of awards for that, for a performance for which she was picked on.

I shall now get ready and then I shall be on my way to The Federal for sound check and show.

More broken-leg vibes for a great show.

This afternoon we saw Infinitely Polar Bear.  The movie was excellent.  It is very nice to have a comfortable theater with stadium seating close to home.

Do bikers even have bells? I don't have one, but i suppose it could be useful.

Do you call out before passing people?

Only if they are blocking the way. If they are over to one side then I slow down a bit. if they have a dog or child then I have my hand on my brakes.

After my shoulder injury my balance was off and I now realize how easy it is to step out to the side.  Our real issue is with the bikes that don't slow down and you can feel the air as they zip by.  As I expected, you are
careful.

If walking a dog I face traffic and keep the dog on the grass/tree side of the walkway.

Well I have never hit anyone. :)

Although some times crazy things happen. For example last year I was biking on the bike path that is at the side of the road.  A lady was walking/jogging on the sidewalk beside the bike path. And then at the exact second i was passing her she decided without looking to walk into the street/step into the bike path. You just can't predict things like that.  There was no reason for me to slow down as i was on the bike path and she was on the sidewalk.

I find it super annoying how many people walk their dogs on the bike path when there is a sidewalk.  and when they see me coming they don't even try to move the dog onto the grass. Instead they expect me to go into the street. It's a bike path and there is a SIDEWALK. Use it.

So your bike path and walking path are not shared space?  I am used to shared space.

Both my dad and one of my sisters cut their foot within the last 24 hours and apparently bled all over the place. I certainly hope these things don't run in threes.

Safe foot vibes for John g and family

DR Vixmom I did not find a demonstration for the sling to get the person off of the floor.  Lifting them from a table was bad enough.  I hope you never have to use that thing.

So your bike path and walking path are not shared space?  I am used to shared space.

There are a lot of different bike paths where i live. By the lake it is a shared path.  There is also a long bike path with grass on both sides that is sort of a shared path (there is a sidewalk on the other side of the street). But there are also bike paths on the side of actual roads.  There is always a sidewalk either right next to the bike path or on the other side of the street. So for me it is okay for joggers to use the bike path if they want. But i don't like when people walking or with dogs use the path. They should use the sidewalk IMO. There are lots of cars on the road and it isn't that safe for them to force bikes to go onto the street.

I have to differ with you   Imagine three  adults using all their strength  taking 45 minutes to get  someone to their feet  all the while he is getting frustrated and upset .  Then  another 10 minutes to try  and move the few steps to the chair.  Then  try to get him  into a chair without  him slipping down and falling on the floor,. that sling will be an absolute Godsend

Yes, but it will be best if he never needs lifting off of the floor again.  Vibes your father doesn't fall again.

Good evening. I just watched the movie of Show Boat, which was vaguely like the DVD of the San Fransisco Opera version of the theater version of Show Boat, which is vaguely like the book.

And since I'm also on the board, I will not only get to participate in the feasting, I will have to help provide the feast, which I certainly don't mind doing.  I'm going to get a couple of Costco pizzas.  That should be good for everyone. :)

Until later...much later!

Well, it was a good, but long and hot (and that's not a euphemism) rehearsal.  Today was supposed to be one of the hottest days of the week.  It certainly felt like it. :P

We got most of the sound and image cues programmed in the computer.  We just need one background image and the music for all but one scene change, then it'll be done.
