I have not had sugar today, except the stuff that comes naturally in fruit. I want the whoopie cake and Vixmom's ice cream with Kahlua.

Starting to watch "The Homesman" with Tommy Lee Jones and Hillary Swenk. Starting out good.

I've gotten hooked on the black and white Perry Mason shows that air on MeTV. I never really wanted to watch it before, even though I would do an imitation of John Byner's imitation of Raymond Burr as Perry Mason.

There is a point during the early 1960s when it seems to me that Burr was ill or had just been through an illness, then his weight increased. In some ways I don't think it was totally coincidental that his next major character role of Detective Ironside was a wheelchair bound character.

I didn't care for the revamped PM in the 1980s. I've heard that there's plans to re-up the series. I don't think that's very smart with all of the crime shows on now, in comparison PM would have to be "modernized" and would it be the same? I don't think it would.

I've also been catching up with The Drew Carey Show as it is being rerun on the Laff channel. When it first aired, I'd watch it, but then I lost interest. He had lots of throwback musical numbers on the show as well as many in-jokes. Just the other day, I caught an episode in which is introduced Lewis's mom. She's played by Richard Chamberlain, which was very funny on several levels.

I may have actually found a decent ricotta. Safeway has a line of products made by its division Lucerne under the "brand" O Organics. Why this would be considered organic is beyond me, but O Organics Organic Ricotta Part Skim Cheese is the closest I think I will come to the NY/NJ brand of ricotta made by Polly-O. Like Polly-O, the O Organics version doesn't have all those thickeners and stabilizers often found in cheap ice cream. All of the ricotta I've had out here, up until "finding" this brand, looked like wax, had no flavor, and behaved like spackle. I'm very surprised that I found this because out here, unfortunately, most folks think Pizza Hut is the final word on Italian food. Why? Because most of them typically go to Peter Piper Pizza or Chuck E. Cheese. Pizza Hut is a fancy night out. Yuck!

[I know a woman who doesn't use pasta sauce or anything resembling it. Instead she concocts her own using ketchup as the main ingredient.]

I think there's more sugar in ketchup than in that moon pie cake.

I always make me own sauce for lasagna.  I don't know why I couldn't use it on pasta.

Start the sauce when you first crave spaghetti.

By the time the sauce is done, you are out of the mood.

Of course, you would then turn it into ten pounds of lasagna, and that would ruin the whole diet.

Besides, ice cream is always better with Bailey's.

Yesterday, I went to the store to get some veggies.  I ran into a display of reuben sandwich potato chips, and I forgot all about the veggies.

I think they would be really good with a nice Russian dressing dip.  Or, if worse comes to worse, Thousand Island Dressing.
