My boss, who is the best person I have ever had the good fortune to work for, has announced he is leaving for another job (outside our company). That transition is also imminent.

That's too bad, Singdaw.  My condolences.  Hopefully, you'll get a new boss who is at least as good as the boss who's leaving.

A friend of mine posted this on FB:  What Works & What Doesn't: 'Chinatown'.

Discuss.

I've only seen it once, a couple of years ago, so I don't really know the movie well enough to discuss.

Everett?  Mount Vernon?  Sedro Wooley?  Arlington?

Tuesday evening greetings!  I went to Dayton today for lunch with the grantwriters, a group I hadn't seen since May.  We had a lot of catching up to do.  Then I had an appointment at a medical supply place to be fitted for the compression stockings that were prescribed for the venous insufficiency in my legs.  This is a company I'd driven past every day on my way to and from work for 11 years and never thought I'd patronize.  The hose are not attractive, but I have to admit my legs feel better when I'm wearing them...

I'm glad they are helping.

Good news from DR JANE.....good news from DR ELMORE

Thanks.  We are relieved too.  What would we have said or done if we didn't like it.  He put a lot of time, thought, and work creating this for us.

Does anyone know what to do for a sore thumb (like "texting thumb"). My right thumb has been hurting. I can't believe how much you need your right thumb (cutting, opening water bottles...).

I have it wrapped. I have iced it.

Stop texting and let it rest for a few days.

I don't even text which is the funny part.  I am trying to rest it. But i use my right thumb for so much. It is so hard not to use it at all.

When I text I don't use my thumb at all.

Try doing things left handed, including typing.

Try not using your right thumb. I never realized how many things require it (turning on the car, holding a glass, opening the shower, turning a faucet to wash your hands, putting butter on toast.... the list is so huge).  I do use it a lot with my kindle. The thumb is the only comfortable finger. But i can use my left vs my right.  But i can't cut things with my left hand at all.
.

Lol Jennifer.  You are talking to someone who loist the use of their entire right arm and hand for a very long time.  I completely understand the difficulties.  In fact, if we go out to eat and the table is too high I still have trouble using a knife.
