TCB, I'm watching one of your favorites, Cheyenne Jackson, in Damn Yankees with a friend of BK's, Jane Krakowski, as Lola. Fun stuff.

I would LOVE to see that!

Then we took a short break, I gave notes, and then decided we should just do a quick cue-to-cue to address all my lighting notes.  We did and I believe we got everything done and all I've asked for in addition is some extra lights and some gobos, because right now everything looks a little flat to me and we need some depth and texture.  But most of it looks very nice indeed.

They brought in pizza so I had three pieces of that - the pieces were super thin and super small, so it was really like eating a normal slice and a half, if that.

September 18

Thank you.  May you have the best vacation possible.  And may you win the Florida Lotto while you are there.

Ditto!

We met friend for dinner and then walked around the cute little town of Camus.  Tonight was 1st Friday so all the stores were open and busy.

We then came home and watched The Spectacular Now.  DR Jennifer I recall you mentioning this a long time ago.  We enjoyed it and the chemistry between the leads.

One of the announcers on the Huskies / Boise State game just used the word ignominious.  I was so shocked, I almost fell out of bed.

We had good quacamole, chips and margaritas tonight ;). The meal was just ok.  Are you referring to one in Vancouver?

One is more limited in their options but their quacamole & chips are the best.  We have stopped a couple of times to get it to go.  It was almost as good at the new restaurant tonight.

We have friends coming from Ashland tomorrow and will likely get some to serve.  The left over chips are also tasty with melted cheese on them.

Don't get me wrong.  I love quacamole.

It depends what you order.  We only ate at the smaller place, with the great chips, but the vegetarian menu is limited and they rarely have rice. What we had was very good.

And now, I'm off.  Friends of mine are celebrating their 10th anniversary with a dinner and I was invited.  I don't know what they're serving, other than it's mostly vegan and/or gluten free. :-\

Oh, well.  My friends are the reason I'm going.  I don't think it's a full sit-down meal.  If it's just finger food, I can just get what I think I might like (I'm not an adventurous eater).

Be back later!

I'm back from my friends' 10th anniversary party and it was a sit-down dinner, but not formal at all.  I couldn't tell you what most of it was, but what I chose wasn't too bad.  I had the salad which included walnuts and cranberries, and I did recognize breaded and fried tofu.  There was some kind of marinara sauce with cut up squash and other vegetables to put on the tofu that wasn't too bad.

Bread...someone brought actual gluten-filled bread, but everyone had to be told that, so that no one had issues.  It turns out that the wife of the anniversary couple (her name is Jim...it's actually Jamie, but she goes by Jim) was recently diagnosed as having celiac disease.  She's had food issues for years, but was never properly diagnosed until earlier this year.  She said it's made a HUGE difference in everything, now that she knows.

Jim also made a gluten-free cake.  It was made from a gluten-free cake mix and she doctored it up a bit and made the bottom half carrot cake and the top half spice cake.  It was VERY good.  I wouldn't have known that it was gluten-free if she hadn't told people.

We all just sat around the tables and chatted with the people around us (I sat with another couple that I know) and we all had a good time.
