TOD: I like almost all nuts. I think there's just one nut I don't like, but honestly I'm not sure what it is. The problem is if I'm eating a handful of mixed nuts, and put several in my mouth at once, I can't isolate what was the nut I didn't like so I can avoid it. I should just eat them one at a time. I've been eating a quarter cup of raw almonds every M-F for a few years now to help my cholesterol. I prefer them roasted, but I believe raw is supposed to be healthier.
Thanks everybody for the thumb vibes.DR Jane wrote:QuoteHmm, I think you need to protect it somehow so you stop jamming it. Bubble wrap it or put it in a sling so you can't move your hand around, depends what you are doing that you are most likely to hit it.I have tried everything. I have tried wrapping it. I have tried icing it. I have made a sling. And it felt good while it was in it. But then it was hurting a lot when i took the sling off.I think i may be making it worse by biking, but i'm not willing to give that up. My new bike has different handlebars. So i don't need to grip it with my thumb on the other side of the handlebar. I thought by just keeping my thumb with my other fingers that it would not put pressure on it. But now i think it might be putting some pressure.

DR Vixmom, your episode sounds very scary and I'm glad it turned out OK. Have they recommended a cardiology work-up for you?
... we'll see if I listen though...
