I really liked "Hunt for Red October"! Yes, it's hard to believe you've never seen it. I don't think I've seen every movie that's based on a Tom Clancy book, but I've seen a few, and that's one of the better ones. I barely remember "Clear and Present Danger".

Tuesday afternoon greetings!  I was out of here a little before 10am to meet my friend Sue at the University of Dayton (where she works) to retrieve my crockpot.  I'd left it at her house on Labor Day because it still had baked beans in it and she still had picnic guests coming and going.  We had a quick cup of coffee and she had to get back to work.

DR Ginny you are green, your dress is blue and yellow, and there are a couple of stripes of magenta going through you.  Just a description of the "fun" I am having with my laptop.

TOD:  There were NO cast albums around my house when I was growing up.  In fact, there were no records in my house after my grandfather remarried and took his hi-fi cabinet with him.  I was three or four at that time.  On that hi-fi I used to thrill to Les Paul and Mary Ford!

When I was in 6th grade, I received a hi-fi for Christmas.   When I was in 9th grade, I discovered the wonderful world of film music...all kinds including film musicals.  Very slowly, I began to discover film soundtracks and obtaining same.

From there, it was a step away to learn of cast albums.   My very first cast album was bought in a cut-out bin: "Greenwillow".

Later came "Maggie Flynn".

Once I was in college, I began discovering others in the school libraries (regular and music)..."She Loves Me', "Fiorello", "My Fair Lady", "Camelot" and "Roar of the Greasepaint, Smell of the Crowd".

We attempted to write ASUS regarding the problem.  It kept saying a box was not filled out with our info.  All the boxes were filled.  Every time we attempted to send and it was not accepted we had to fill the info in again.

We've been getting constant phone calls from people saying that we have a problem on our computer(s) and they will fix it if we give them access.  All the callers have a foreign accent, and we hang up on them.

Sometimes I play with these guys, Druxy. I follow their directions (they think) and go to the computer, and when they tell me what to click on, I tell them that a popup window popped up, which surprises them. I tell them I'm getting my glasses on so I can read it to them: "For goodness sake, hang up the phone; they are trying to scam you."

They usually hang up on me.

My dad had classical music, which I didn't appreciate at the time. He would play the Peer Gynt Suite for me sometimes.

I remember my mom buying an LP of the Sound of Music after I saw the movie with a neighbor. I was confused. Who was this Mary Martin person? She didn't sound at all like Maria.

I'm up, I'm up.  I think I got at least nine hours of sleep.  Tummy is a bit contentious and the headache doesn't seem to want to go away.

TOD - the first show recording I remember is my sister's OKLAHOMA movie soundtrack, which was on 45s.  The first OBC album I remember is THE MUSIC MAN, which we got shortly after seeing the road company in Detroit when I was 8.  That was my first live professional Broadway show, starring Forrest Tucker and Joan Weldon.

BK,

That story about the Apple scam is scary.  Indeed, being a Mac person, I've taken notes from you blog on how to fix it.

We've been getting constant phone calls from people saying that we have a problem on our computer(s) and they will fix it if we give them access.  All the callers have a foreign accent, and we hang up on them.

Be careful what you "click: on.

I'd recently seen a couple of headlines about Macs starting to get more viruses than ever before.  I didn't read the articles because I don't have a Mac, but I got the impression that they were warning people about the increase in Mac viruses. :-\

Most of our albums were classical and I loved sitting with my father listening to them.

That is funny about Maria.

Not at all.  The Downton Abbey thing Ron put up makes me sick to look at.  It is green, purple, and magenta and moves. ;D

I was in high school when I discovered my first official Sondheim cast recording on my own.  "A Little Night Music" was the album where I first noticed the name of Stephen Sondheim. :)
