We are back from a lovely Christmas dinner at the home of Richard's younger brother and his wife. Rob and Mary Linda are home from Michigan and we've made our plans to have Christmas morning all over again tomorrow. Rob will get home from work about 9, so we'll have a nice breakfast and open presents before he goes to sleep.

We're back from dinner at DR Kate's daughter-in-law's parents' home. We had delicious lasagne and the meat eaters had "beef on wreck" (a Buffalo specialty) and Polish sausage.

it was a lovely Christmas. After church we came home and had toasted bagels and sausages with lashings of HP sauce and a nice pot of tea and then we opened our prezzies

Once the present were opened and the wrapping paper was cleaned up and discarded I started on Christmas dinner

i chopped an onion and sauteed it in butter and once it was turning brown I started adding mushrooms and more butte when finally all five lbs were in the pa n I added beef stock broth and sherry and them let it simmer.

then a prepared the carrots with honey and orange juice and butter and just a touch of ginger and got that settled in a casserole

popped the roast into the oven and then we had a nice visit with my Mom and my dad's aide (Dad was sleeping)

I needed to leave by 2:30 or 3:00 today to get home before predicted bad weather. Dinner was planned at 12:30 It wasn't even close to being ready by 2:30 so I left without eating. It happened last year too, so this time I wasn't surprised. I had a little ham in the fridge at home and made dinner when I got home

I really wish mom would accept the idea that she needs help. She just isn't there yet. I need to start going up there more often to help her out.

I also had a very good time with mom and dad. I made breakfast for them this morning, scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, orange juice and coffee and we had our own Christmas (we had Christmas eve at my brother's house. That was nice). I was really with them the whole time whether at their house or at my brother's. I wish I was a little closer. When I lived near them, I helped them out everyday. Now they need it and I just can't do it

a couple of hours later we all sat down to a nice meal.. Then I cleaned up = put soem of the leftovers in Mom s fridge packed some for home and then backhome

I am glad I left when I did. Road conditions are getting bad tonight. My original plans may have left me stranded there. Not a good thing since I have a special needs cat who needs meds every day
