Home from City Center.  I proofread two of Tunick's orchestrations for CABIN N THE SKY.  I look forward to the band reading in two weeks.  The goal is to have 12 charts ready for the orchestra reading.

Finished the song I've been working on - about old movie theaters vs. today's.

Well, crap.  When I got home, my television was off, and it meant that something had happened to the DVR/cable box.  Yesterday there was a problem with its acting wonky.  So, I turned it back on and in the next hour, it shit itself off three times, and now it will not play.

Tomorrow between 9:00 and 10AM, a Time warner sertvice person will show up and bring me a new cable box.  so, no TV tonight. Damn.

New battery installed and working fine.  My last battery came from the dealer, and since I've had a few electrical problems since getting it, I'm just going to assume they put in something cheap.  THIS new battery is top of the line and has a three year replacement warranty.  The guy at the Infiniti dealer tried to tell me that despite all new batteries having warranties they couldn't ever guarantee a battery would have a life.  Really?  I'm going right to corporate with that crap because I want to be reimbursed for this, since the bad battery was less than two years old.

Whatever idiot posted the video has somehow managed to delete most of the musical numbers.

I made up for a late start, not eating until later in the day.  My skirts are all too tight.  I looked for a new one to buy but they only have dresses on the ship.

I noticed that.  I just randomly jumped into the video and ended up near the beginning of "Mr. Goldstone" but most of it wasn't there, then "Little Lamb" was also mostly excised.  What's up with that??

From the bits that are there, I'm enjoying Imelda Staunton and Herbie, but nothing else, especially the choreography - an occasional nod to Mr. Robbins, but the rest is from hunger.  Note to choreographer: If you're going to change Jerry Robbins' choreography you'd better damn well be good at your job.  You're not.

I don't like the Louise at all, and the rest seem to really be overselling everything.

In about forty minutes I'll head over to The Federal to sup and then see La Graae and La Prince.

The Time Warner company needs to hire phone reps who speak English as a first language. The one who called me this evening, after i thought an appointment was set for tomorrow, kept calling me "Mr Moorra" and sounded as though he had a Pakastani-Indian-Middle Eastern accent, and I understood at most 5% of what he said.  I think he assured me that the problem has been solved on Time Warner's end and that all is good. So, no serviceman tomorrow.

Oy!

Yup weird....clip.....songs....edited....

I have to say that I don't LIKE Staunton....for all that I had read, I expected a really different and new ROSE......instead she seems like she's always MAD from the beginning to the end.  I can't say much about her singing because I'm no expert, and it's not all there....but.... XXX

And she's so OLD!  I guess Rosalind Russell will always be Rose for me....

Yes DR VIXMOM you described Concentration.....they also had a "Steal" panel - if you matched that, you could steal one of your opponents prizes!

DR TCB - there was a show called SAY WHEN.....maybe Art James was on vacation and Ed was filling in.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCmGjJZVbsk

No, I checked out SAY WHEN first, but it was not the right time period.  It had to be on the air in March 1969.  And it was definitely NBC's version of PASSWORD.  Anyway, we got to do a nice interview with Johnny Olson (between tapings), did a brief interview with Nipsy Russell (a-hole), and I got to talk to Ed McMahon when he returned from lunch break (he was very drunk).  I just don't remember it being called SNAP JUDGEMENT.

As it happens, Mr John Payne from today's clip is the father of my hairdresser Richard's friend and next-door neighbor. FWIW.
