TOD:

Back in 1996, Sandy and I spent about two weeks in the UK.

The first few days were in London; saw SUNSET BLVD with Petula Clark and JOLSON, and also did the Jack the Ripper walking tour.  Then, we took a 10 day bus tour up to Scotland and back.  The highlight of that tour wal Edinburgh Castle.

SNOW!

Okay, only a quarter of an inch, thank the gods, and we just leaf-blew it again.

But what a rude awakening.  Especially since no one had forecast it.  Damn it to HELL, I demand that every quarter of an inch be forecast.

You know that package that got here in one day?  I checked where it was mailed from.  The town is about forty minutes from here.  For some reason I'd thought the seller was at least a few states away.

Disc 2 tonight!   :)

TOD

I left my job in December 1979 to join my friends for a Mexican/Caribbean cruise on their sailboat.  I returned in April 1980 (and went back to the same job).  But there were a few people crewing at any one time, and the boat and its owners were out for a couple of years in all.

Good lord, life was carefree then.

Good morning, all!

Lots of dreams last night. I remember fragments this morning:
  1. My brother Macbeth and I sharing a bedroom as kids
  2. One long convoluted one with ladies in late 19th century dresses and a search for someone with a strange name like Oren Rasmussen (that wasn't the name; I no longer remember it)
  3. Something about traveling

I frittered yesterday away and accomplished very little. I hope to accomplish a lot with my taxes today. Now that the Oscars have been announced, I need to see a few movies, so I may plan some of that as well.

DR Cilla, I don't think you need to apologize for any comments you posted last night. I also found your summary of the court behavior of your client's family most entertaining.

DR George, fire the usher, who should be setting some sort of model behhavior and control over the audience. The behavior with the cell phone was ridiculous.  If you have a problem, take your ass out of the theatre after notifying your supervisor of a personal problem.  If there was no problem, then the usher should never be allowed to set foot in a theatre again.

I has spoke.

Prostitution ring? I thought my Manhattan past was sensational, but the West Coast is leaving me in the dust.  Some day I'll post about my 1981 roommate who worked for as a banker and moonlighted for an escort service.  He was the favorite escort of a Brink's armed truck robber who stayed at the Plaza where the cocaine was an inch deep in the carpet and spent a lot of the stolen loot on producing a porn film.

I keep forgetting that I haven't put the snow tires on the car.  I don't think I've ever waited till January to do that.  What was it, 2009 that we had weather like this?  That time I regretted having done it early and putting unnecessary wear on them.  I guess I'm making up for that now.  It's time for an oil change, so I'll get the tires done, too.

The other seasonal thing I haven't done, which also breaks records, is get a flu shot!  I really need to take a few minutes, like, today, and get that done.

How times have changed.

I have not seen any of the movies that got Oscar nominations this morning.  Not one.

Thursday morning greetings!  Back to reality today - I have to get our Christmas decorations put away and do some financial work for Mom.  My sister and her husband will be in town overnight on their way back to Michigan after being in Florida since the beginning of November.  Boy, are they in for a shock weather-wise!
