I had just returned home from running errands this afternoon and was pulling into my parking space when my dashboard said there was a problem with one of the tires. Ugh! I called the garage, yes, they could take care of it today, so back out I went. All is well now--or so I'm told. The tires look fine. I suspect the problem was actually that the tire indicator light hadn't gone off from two weeks ago when the tire was repaired, but I have no free time tomorrow and didn't want any problems.

Dr George had some interesting news last night regarding his co-worker. One just never knows, I guess. You'll have to keep us posted, George.

If I learn anything more...sometimes there is no other news, except in this case it was a police matter.  In previous terminations (former director and HR manager), the wrong-doings were all internal.

Well, being the creative bunch that we are, we could make up a few versions. I suspect there'll be some buzz around the library, in any case.

I heard that one of the powerball winners is from California. That's all I know.

I'd be quite happy with one of the small consolation prizes.

I have seen none of the nominated films, but that's nothing new. There are a couple I'd like to see, but I'm more comfortable watching at home than in a movie theatre.

Regarding the usher, yes, it's best to report her, IMO. It really isn't fair to the theater patrons, who paid to see the show, or to the performers. It shouldn't fall to the patrons to ask her to behave herself. Is there a head usher or supervisor around in these instances?

There are usually two house managers who would've been able to deal with her, but I couldn't leave my area and I couldn't get a hold of either house managers.

Richard saw THE REVENANT while I was in Boston.  He says I wouldn't like it.

This racial diversity horse manure is just stupid.  People are voting for PERFORMANCES, not skin color.  Oh, well.  Too damn bad.  Should they vote for someone just because they're of a different race or color?  Really?  I'm so sick of this BS.

And on that note (B-natural ;) ), I have to leave.  Tonight is TAO's monthly board meeting.

Be back later.

Aside from that, what was your opinion on those movies & actors that were suggested should have been nominated?

Little Tacoma Theater
210 North I St

Correct?

What time should we be at the box office?

Is it ok to wear jeans for a matinee?  It is cold out and I don't own any dress pants.

I didn't see any list of films or actors in that article, just the usual horse pucky.  There's no deep plot to shut out people of different color or race, sorry.  The Oscars nominations and wins are based on votes.  No one has to agree with them, but it's not about anything other than the voters voted for what they thought was best.  Was there a snub to Straight Outta Compton?  I liked it, but I thought there were many other films that were better, and certainly there were no performances in it that I would have voted for.  When an actor of color turns in a great performance, sorry, they're nominated and sometimes they win.

Finished with a very long rehearsal, but a good one.  I've only written about five pages and I'm so not in the mode right now - have to GET in the mode and I think the fastest way to do that is to go have a sweet.  There's no reason why I can't do eight more pages tonight.

I liked Brian Bedford in that movie very much....a very strange Ross Hunter production...I even liked the girl in the movie....Julie Sommars.....

I was always resistant to the idea of Lady Bracknell played by a man; to me, Dame Edith Evans owns the role still.  That said, Brian Bedford was quite amazing in the last delightful Broadway revival of The Importance of Being Earnest.

oh!!! I saw that production, he was wonderful

Ten pages.  Really want to do four more and I think I can before midnight or even if I stay up and do it after the notes.

I am hoping you mean the Silver Cloud Inn, although I believe the building is white.

Yes, that would be the Tacoma Little Theatre, but the address is correct.  Jeans are okay for Broadway these days, so yes, they would be fine in Tacoma.
