I am attending the first "broadwaycon, " a 3-day celebration of Broadway.  I have to wonder why they picked January for this event, considering the potential for bad weather.

Sounds like fun, KevinH. Perhaps the weather is why they scheduled it in January.

DR Jane recently asked about my eyes.

I can now read fine without glasses (needed reading glasses before), as well as do things around the apartment. I need glasses to drive, though, which was the plan. As for the side effects of the surgery, I'd say that the headaches are slowly diminishing, but the other side effects remain, although minor.

Excellent news, Jeanne.

Dakota I was able to collect some post cards and things to send you.  I just need to confirm your address and find time to go to the post office.   Sometimes I miss having a car.

So an audition that I referred to cryptically back in November has come to fruition. I am a founding member of the 45-voice American Public Media Radio Choir. Our debut is at Orchestra Hall this Saturday. We are performing a work called "Seven Psalms," a setting of 7 Psalms from the Bible for tenor soloist, choir, and jazz quartet. Plus some very intricate settings of songs by Sia and Dave Matthews. The whole reason for being of this choir is to get people singing and to engage folks in singing. So while we'll do occasional performances, the bulk of our activity will be events like singing in schools and prisons and organizing community sings. It's a great group of talented folks, and I am thrilled to be a part of something new and full of exciting energy.

Congrats Sing!!  That sounds like a wonderful opportunity!

This is great. DR slingshot! Would your choir be interested in some choral music I wrote?

That would be cool!

After that, we are all going to The Olive Garden for dinner.  Fortunately, there will be enough time between TDM and TOG that I won't still be full...probably.

Be back later.

I went to the Olive Garden for lunch with a friend/former coworker.

Between Taco Del Mar and The Olive Garden, I did have too much to eat today, but I'm not feeling overly full...just regular full.

;)

I hate people who linger.....after the show.....  At our facility, I tell cast members, talk to your friends someplace else.....  They stand in the way when we're trying to sweep the house of all of the popcorn and programs and ticket stubs and candy wrappers that they've thrown on the floor....

The show is over.....go someplace else us to talk.  THEN they stand outside by their cars talking and talking....and of course we can't leave the property while people are still there.....so we wait and wait and wait.....

 :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\

Hmmm, DR TCB.  I guess we should be brief after the show :)

Don't worry about that.  We will be ready to go eat long before they are ready to lock the doors.

Finally finished the last chapter.  I found a nice way to end it - something came to me in the shower, which is why I took the shower.  And now I've begun the addendum.  It probably won't be more than three to five pages long and this book in manuscript form will probably come in at 240 pages, twenty pages less than the Hofstetter books, yet with more words.  Mushing on.

Congrats on finishing the last chapter, BK!!

One of the ladies in our cast returned from the land of the flu last night, but she actually had most of her voice back tonight.

Interesting tidbit:  Her doctor told her that her strain of flu was not included in this year's vaccine.
