From DR TCB:
Quote
Interesting tidbit:  Her doctor told her that her strain of flu was not included in this year's vaccine.

That happened a lot last year.  Question is, did she have the regular flu shot or the quad.

I also find it interesting her doctor checked to find out what strain she had.  I wonder if the information was sent to people who track these things.

For the past two days I have been reading The Martian.  I had thought I could finish it yesterday, but that would have been pushing it.  Today, for sure, then back to some other things.  It's been a great read.

I'm very glad now that I didn't run out to the movie.  I've enjoyed picturing things the old fashioned way, and I'll enjoy the film for itself all the more later.

Having seen the movie I might never read the book.

Before the movie came out I had "Brooklyn" on my wish list.  Chances are I will end up seeing the movie first and might never read the book.

Back from Xeroxing, delivering pages and dealing with the little irritant which was kind of painless and fast.  So there.  Now I wait for Muse Margaret's call.  I was up at 7:30 and began futzing and finessing at 7:45.  But I'm really glad I did a lot of that last night, especially the addendum because I was pretty happy reading this morning.  I smoothed out a few things, added a couple of lines and reworded a few things and that was that.

I read the book last year and loved it.  I really enjoyed the movie, too.  They followed the book fairly closely, but had to take things out that the book, of course, could linger on.

TOD:

I am sure the new book has something to do with L.A. restaurants.....perhaps it is about a series of meetings at different locations....and something to do with the business of show.

And food?  Will the book include recipes?? :D

You should!  The movie is actually very good, but the book is better.  The detail is very engrossing and not boring at all.

I should have put a hold on it at my library.  I'm #11 in the queue with 4 copies.

I put a hold on it with the Ashland library and am #84 in the queue.  I might as well remove it.

I love the Vancouver library.

Was just sitting on the couch, trying to watch a boring movie so I could sleep but sleep would not come and boy was the movie boring - The Last Five Years.  Never liked the show, but the movie trying to BE a movie makes hash of the show's concept and in so doing renders everything pointless.  I do like Anna Kendrick.  I had to chuckle when the record label who did the cast album is part of the producing team.  Shot on video of course -

Just had what can only be described as a heavenly phone call from Muse Margaret.  I was so petrified about the stuff I wrote over the last two days just because when I get to the end of something and struggle with it I always think I've ruined it - but I was heartened this morning when I read the finessed version of those pages.  Anyway, she had not one note - this has become her favorite book of all of my books.  She was so specific about where she was screaming with laughter, but even better, for me, was that twice she got teary-eyed - that's a trick road but I wanted the book to have an emotional undercurrent, which it does.  I obviously could not be happier.

When I got the package from Kritzerland, I opened it and found the script to "Welcome to My World."  I had to set it down for a moment to look at something for my work.  I needed to look closely at what I needed to look at, so I set my glasses down because I can't see that close with my glasses, and this is exactly where I set them:

Tuesday (late) afternoon greetings!  We were out of here at 7:40 this morning to be at Dayton's Schuster Center at 8:30 for "Bagels & Broadway."  We got to be in the theatre for about 90 minutes of the ONCE load-in and to hear a lot about the technical side of touring this show.  Richard and I visited the box office and bought 4 great seats for tomorrow evening's performance and we'll have a double date with Rob and Mary Linda.  We, of course, saw the show in New York a couple of years ago, but the kids have not seen it and we think they'll both like it.

From the theatre, we went to the building that's serving as the main Dayton Metro Library while the building where I worked is being remodeled.  Don't need to visit there again...

Stopped at Dorothy Lane Market, came home for lunch, and got busy doing this 'n' that and I realized I hadn't said HI today.

I've had a quiet day: changed my HP ink cartridges in my printer, printed some invoices, worked on my taxes, took some trash to the basement, picked up the mail and napped a bit.

Tomorrow, my life gets busy again. About time!
