Ricky's obsession with the garage door has calmed down.

Last night he was freaking out at the window, so I looked out and there was an opossum looking back at me,

As much as I hated to do it, I took in the bird feeders and am going to quit putting out feed

The raccoons caused too much damage a few years ago and the opossum appears to be under my deck

many people feed the birds and other wild life so they will find food, I just can't have this many animals in my yard

Seriously, it looks like several football games have been played in the yard by a tribe of young kids, and not one of those tracks was put their by a tribe of young kids

I'm not worried about that, but some of the animals really can damage the house etc, so they need to move on. And if they try to have young in the spring, they will get eaten by the hawk. So.....they'll have to get dinner somewhere else

Ok, that's all I know....politicians and wild animals and a cat obsessed with the door to the garage.

Oh, the other thing that's new is that they replaced all the fluorescent bulbs in the office with LED bulbs.  They are so bright they give me headaches.  So now I'm working by the light of a few table lamps.  It's too dark and I need to get a floor lamp or two, but it's really kind of soothing and my head doesn't hurt anymore

My landlord made it sound like I just have to get used to it.  Jerk.  They could do a couple different alterations to make it a little dimmer in my office, take out a couple bulbs or rewire one switch so I can shut it off, but apparently I'm not too high on their priority list.  Maybe that's for the best

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TeYpLorTNeI  this is the Iowa one. You can see it's almost identical. I love the way he says Cat a rapids instead of Cedar Rapids.  Sort of like Mini Palace for Minneapolis the good stuff starts at 1:31 or so

Hi all sorry I have not been in a posting mood this week.  Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers they are truly comforting. At my mothers insistence we remained here but I will be heading home tomorrow

I understand, and I'm sure she would have worried about you driving home.  Sending hugs and love.

Tomorrow morning I will be attending the sneak preview grand re-opening of the main library branch downtown. It has been closed for 3 months for major renovations. It is a grand old building, exactly what you think a building should look like when you think of a grand old-fashioned library building. I am invited because I participate in a weekly community outreach event for the homeless.

I look forward to hearing about it.

My friends used to have a cat named Ditto. He was the most gorgeous snowshoe.

Bryan had a gerbil he named Frisco.  I suggested he name the almost twin Ditto and he did.  They were great little pets and fun to watch.
