Well, I just got a text from a friend of mine, asking if I wanted to hang out or maybe get some dinner, so I'm off to hang out or get some dinner.

Be back later. :)

From yesterday's discussion.

I definitely use the term "sleeping in" to mean sleeping late.  It is very commonly used here.

Same as DR Matthew on the nuts.  Walnuts are the one weird one for me, but at least now I can eat them as opposed to when I was a kid.  I can actually appreciate a Waldorf Salad type of thing now, and I do enjoy a chicken salad with apples, cranberries and walnuts I buy at Shop Rite.

And cookies?  Leave your frickin nuts out of my cookies, please.  Their taste and texture are an utter distraction from what a cookie is supposed to be.  This goes for brownies, too.  Especially brownies.  And cakes or whatever.

Okay, a couple of exceptions to that.  Some pieces of peanuts in good peanut butter cookies?  Sure, why  not.  And I do like me some macadamias, inside or outside of cookies.  But something like oatmeal raisin cookies that have walnuts in them, however ground up they may be?
No.  Thank.  You.

And I don't want a brownie without some sort of nut in it. Otherwise the texture is too monotonous and occasionally gummy.

Watching Zabriskie Point. The visual are great. The stories about the police are timely. But the whole thing feels like a really long bad trip back to the 1960s, right down to Rod Taylor.

Just caught up with the latest Downton Abbey. They seem hellbent on getting everyone married off.

Vixter kept the driveway cleared and made a delcious meatloaf with oven roasted potatoes, peas and gravy and cornbread which was ready just when Vixdad and I arrived home simultaneously at 7:45
