Jane must speed-reading books that have nothing to do with me, Druxy must be writing nine plays, JohnG must be eating some barbecue, Singdaw I have no idea, FJL is taxing, Jrand is doing heaven knows what, George is auditioning and is literally out every night of the week - never seen anything like it - elmore is cleaning up some orchestration or other, Jeanne is resting, TCB is eating hummus or something, Kevin is in Guam or something, vixmom (I swear to God, spell check just tried to change vixmom to vixmim) and heaven only knows where everyone else is.  This is UNSEEMLY.

And what is this crap about losing an hour?  Are you telling me Daylight Savings Time is now a nine MONTH deal?

Michael Feingold's new column gives my recording Victor Herbert: Collected Songs a wonderful mention:
http://www.villagevoice.com/arts/the-long-neglected-passageway-between-classical-music-theater-and-pop-reopens-8336026?utm_content=bufferc8b23&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer

Good piece. Luker is always worthy of praise. But, like DR Jeanne, I did miss the mention of Herr Singdaw.

I wish I were eating barbecue.

Vixdad and I have been invited to a wedding  the invitation specified black tie.  Much as I hate to admit it I have never been to a black tie affair.  I know it means Vixdad must rent a tux...but what is appropriate for me?

A beautiful gown that can only make you more beautiful than you already are,

You can also get a long black skirt and wear it with a dressy top.  That way you can mix and match the clothes for more practical wear later on.  Vixdad can rent a tux, or a black tie ;)

You could wear a tux, too.

I understand Ms Murin's frustration, but I hope she doesn't think this rampant bad behavior is limited to the theatre world. Online posts--at least on many sites--are subject to attack. I don't usually post anywhere but here, largely for that reason.

I agree.  Political columns seem to bring out some of the most rancid comments I have ever read anywhere.

I'll be doing an entire notes about this, but:

You know, I have a really good memory about my past, from childhood on. When I wrote my first memoir, I pretty much got it all right - with a little help from friends on certain timelines. But I went into storage last week and was just ridding myself of years and years of crap, and I found a box with all my Day Runners (remember those) from 1971 to 1985 when SAG stopped making them. I've been looking through them. What a different time it was. I sometimes had five interviews a day - there was always something - but so far I have not found anything huge that I didn't put in the book - a couple wrong dates, certainly (wish I'd had these out when I was writing it), but no head-slappers until just now when I read that I actually screen tested for the movie of The Sunshine Boys! I have NO memory of this at all. I remember reading for it and thinking Neil didn't like me, but I guess he liked me enough that I tested. I'm gobsmacked. But holy moley on rye, the things I read for - my favorite was "read for George Lucas" - I think you can figure out what that was - and not only was George in the room reading people, his pal Brian da Palma was there, listening, because he was about to cast Carrie. I'm up through 1976.

Would that have been for STAR WARS or AMERICAN GRAFITTI?

I wonder if all you Facebook converts have liked and look at the page I created for the LA show.  I know Jane hasn't - why is that?  The page is called L.A. Now and Then, and every day I post a classic LA photo there - I'd suggest finding us and liking us immediately.  To not do so is simply unseemly.

https://www.facebook.com/lanowandthen/

Actually I have looked at it and it is nice.  Are you sure I haven't "liked" any of them?  I am trying not to click on as many things, even typing here really hurts my shoulder.

Perhaps you should take your computer to bed with you instead of your nook.

Right, Keith is bothered by the light of my nook.  I doubt he could sleep with my computer on.  Moving the mouse around hurts too.

One of the old actor's group is playing Willy and both he and the production have gotten rave reviews.

For the role of Luke Starkiller.
