I didn't answer the question yesterday about the recording artist whom I have the most of on LP. For me, it's unquestionably Judy Garland.

Re "Valmouth". I have the Chichester 1982 recording. Big Deal (a Fosse reference). Mark Wynter played the role of Captain Dick Thoroughfare. Significance. On my recent trip to London, the only Cd I purchased was one by Mark Wynter. He had a very successful pop career here and in the Uk in the early 1960's. He is also on one of the recordings of "Robert & Elizabeth".
I"m sure you all needed to know that.

Yesterday's JR question: I would have at least 40 CDs of Dusty Springfield and about the same of Paul Simon & Art Garfunkel (Duo and Solo careers). I have not repalced all of my vinyl of these favourites though. I probably have more Paul McCartney on Cd and record than I have of anyone else.

Been too busy for VCR, DVD and Cd this week. I've been compiling discs of obscure Australian release only recordings (1960s) for a radio station here. The record companies no longer exist and the market would not justify any commercial release of the material.
For the interest of the few pop people (of a certain age) at HHW,I have also recorded hard to find US singles "There's No Such Thing" (Jimmy Darren -from "Gidget") and Santo & Johnny's version of the theme from "Come September"

Had another "pleasant" encounter at my favorite jewelry store counter.

And I didn't even ask for a box this time.  Because I didn't want to start a fight.

Today the items were an 30% off, and unfortunately my $42 necklace scanned at $6.30.  Well that is a good price.  But it was supposed to be 30% off of $10.50.

The elderly woman (a different one from last time) tried to tell me the discount was already in the computer.

OMG, if another person tries to tell me that I may go crazy.  First off 30% off of $10.50 is not $6.30.

So i nicely explained that to her (as well as the fact that I could get the 6.30 price any day, since that was the scanning price).

Anyhow luckily she was not too bright, and bought my explanation without too much discussion.  I was actually afraid she was going to get her co-worker (which WAS THE WOMAN I HAD THE FIGHT WITH LAST TIME).  So I was very happy to get out of there.

But again, I could tell she thought I was ungrateful.  She thought I should be happy that the price was less than what it was supposed to be.  And while I agree, it totally defeats the point of an EXTRA 30%.

Oy.

DRJENNIFER what would happen if you wore ALL your jewelry at one time?  You would be the Zsa Zsa Gabor of HHW!

I wish DRELMORE....I only wish.  Although I may be coming to New York sometime in the summer - fingers crossed.

Thanks to DR Ben for the review of BROOKLYN. Your comments seem to parallel what others who have seen it have said. I think this show, like RENT and AIDA, is just not for me despite the talent of the performers. I didn't enjoy either of those musicals though I know plenty of other people who think they're great. I'd rather listen to BELLS ARE RINGING.

Do you think that the same people who like RENT like AIDA?

I love RENT.  And I sort of think I'd like BROOKLYN (I really liked what I saw on the Today show).  But I didn't care for AIDA as much (although I loved Sherie Rene Scott so much).

To me AIDA is more like J&H (two shows my dad adores).

Actually I don't have that much jewelry.  Pretty much all I buy is on sale at this one counter.  It's just way too expensive otherwise!

One more comment about the election. THough my state went heavily in favor of Bush, I was absolutely delighted to see the final voting results in the newspaper this morning and my city, Charlotte, carried a pluraity for Kerry (and also for Erskine Bowles for the Senate who also lost to the congressman who has accepted more special interest money than any other - Richard Burr).

Matt H, yes Howard Dean was also interesting.  All this talk about Hillary already makes me wonder if it is true the people behind her pushed for Kerry so she could run in the next election. ;D

In my DVD player FAHRENHYPE 911.  I dare anyone who watched   'FAHRENHEIT 9/11' and believed everything Michael Moore represented as truth to watch it. :D

CD-BABES IN TOYLAND
      MOVIN OUT-the broadway cast

I don’t think I will ever feel the same again about riding the Metro.  The Red line is the one I use when I’m in Bethesda.

Whew - the couple of times I have been in DC, I have loved the Metro.  Scary!

Off to my sister Molly's house for a night of LP's, 45's, and Pepsi!

I did enough pages today to cover the missed writing of yesterday, and today's writing.  So, I'll be exactly where I want to be by tomorrow (I may even do two extra pages today and be there by this afternoon) - then I can take most of Saturday and all of Sunday off, and resume on Monday and begin the final twenty pages or so.  Whew!  Now, what to eat.

I've been heating the pool since noon and it just reached seventy-five - it's a bit brisker than normal out and I guess it just takes longer when the weather is colder.

Just had a lovely conversation with my house owner and he's a great guy.  Taking care of the three or four outstanding things left to take care of.  I may actually meet him later if I'm around - he has mail to pick up.  If I'm away I'll leave it outside, but if I'm here, I'll say hello.

Penny-great news.  March would be a good time to visit NY-wish I could. And good for the State Attorney General!!

More good news, elmore slept without meds!!  How I wish I could watch your DVD’s with you.

Matthew, good vibes for the rest of your show.

Jennifer we watched STARGATE SG1 on DVD.  Currently we are watching AMOS AND ANDY and SCIENCE FICTION THEATER.  I would like to get MAKE ROOM FOR DADDY.

Jose-congrats on the new bathroom.  What a nice treat to return home and have had the work done while you were gone.

Bruce thanks for reminding me to go pick up our mail.

Hmmm, I LOVED KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN, and quite liked RAGTIME.  Although I like RENT more than both of those.

Well instead of paying $6.30 I only had to pay $4.41 (30% of $6.30).  And actually I know it's only $2.  It's just the point of the sale.  :)

I love, love, love RENT.  Although it was the OBC that I fell totally in love with.  IT was just the most perfect cast.  I've seen the show a few other times, it was good but not as perfect as the OBC.

OMG, I just found the huge box of left over halloween candy untouched.  I totally thought it was all gone.

Since my flu shot (last weekend) I've felt like I have the flu (I guess that can happen).  Only problem is I'm hungry, but I can't think of anything that I have here that tempts me.  And it's so dark and dreary and windy, so I don't want to go out.

The chocolate bars (from Halloween) sort of look yummy. :)

In the mail were two DVDs from Netflix, one in the traditional red and white envelope and the second in a startling ugly green and white envelope.

Sitting inside those envelopes, elmore pay attention now, disc one and two of VANITY FAIR.

With all the work going on this week we are a bit tired and might wait until tomorrow to begin watching VANITY FAIR.  We do have the last episode of LOST saved in TIVO to watch.

François I enjoyed the photo album covers.
