Rain and thunderstorms here, which the weather service says will last until Friday. So much for a free ticket to the boat parade tonight.

I faced high waters on the road while coming to work this morning. My boss and a coworker both turned around and have decided it was safer to work from home today.

All day yesterday felt like Saturday to me.

I suppose "Grantchester" broke the spell.

Has anyone noticed how the priest is only "seldom" seen in priest's garb this season?  Every time I see him in his collar, I'm taken aback.

DR Ron, my brother is a fan of the show.  We watched a few episodes of season 1 and stopped, and the 1st episode of season 2.  We watched enough to know what you are talking about. 😆

DR KATE and DR RLP - I forgot about THE V.I.P.S. which is indeed a very good film.....everyone looks great....and it's very involving.

One of my favorite bits is about Orson Welles and his Italian actress who can't act - played by an actress who can't act....and probably doesn't know she's the joke....

Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton both look so good in this movie, and you also have Maggie Smith, Rod Taylor, and Laurence Harvey.....not too shabby.

Monday afternoon greetings!  I've been up since before 7, but puttering a bit.  It's gloriously sunny and warm here today.

DR Ginny,  now that I have begun reading My Antonia I  cannot imagine a woman narrating it.

I know, right?  George Guidall was perfect.

George Guidall is perfect on most every book he reads.

I think his reading of Beach Music and I Know This Much Is True are better than the books themselves.

I am home from Columbia to encounter more bad news from the Library of Congress on the McGlinn front.  The left had down in DC knows not what the right hand is up to.  This is so irritating.

Everyone with cabins on the port side of Deck 9 heard my scooter mournfully beep every six feet.
